[Vevey/Lausanne]Horse Riding - English speaking tutor/riding companion required.

My partner (non French speaking) wants to go back to horse riding and I was wondering if anyone knew of an English speaking riding tutor in the Vevey/Lausanne/Montreux areas.

Equally if anyone lives in the same area and would like to have lessons at the same time (as it would be more fun with someone else) please let me know.

Many Thanks
Neal Sheppard.

Hey there,
we aren't in VD but I am looking into some places for my wife to ride.
Are you interested? How many are you who like to go?

Hi! I'm in Morges and I'm interested to take some lessons, too. Haven't ridden in years, but been thinking about starting. Unfortunately, I haven't started looking around yet, so I don't know of any place in particular. But let me know if you find a place or want someone to take lessons with.

Lizz

Hi,
we are from Germany and we are moving to Lausanne in August. I don't speak any French, so I am looking for horseback riding lessons in English, too. I started again with lessons a couple of weeks ago after a break of 20 years . So, if anybody gets some information or wants to start an English speaking group, please let me know.

hi

I was living in Leysin near Aigle before, it's about 40 minutes from Montreux by train and faster if you go by car.
I started my horse riding lessons there
My teacher speaks fluent english, french, and also German I think.
I"m going to go back there on September and going to continue with my lessons.

You can [PM me for contact info]

I would also be interested in picking up hourse riding again. Has been a few years...

If anyone has more details about a course close to Lausanne that would be very helpful.

Thanks

Hello!

I would like to resurrect this thread and see if anyone has information about riding lessons around Lausanne.

I don't have a car and I'm looking for lessons in English. If anyone has any leads...

I've searched through forums and found some places that would be more convenient if I owned a car, or owned a horse.

Re: [Vevey/Lausanne]Horse Riding - English speaking tutor/riding companion required.

I'd be VERY keen to join someone with some English lessons (or lessons in French if someone can help me get started!) I've been riding for about 10 years, and have had a horse for the last few, so moderatley competant! I have a car, just need to brave finding a yard!!!

Hi,
Are you interested in classic or western riding. Vevey or Lausanne. I can hook you up with someone or you might be interested to come to my farm near Blonay. Send me a message if you are interested.

Re: [Vevey/Lausanne]Horse Riding - English speaking tutor/riding companion required.

I live in Nyon and don't have a car, nor do I speak much French. I am desperate to ride! I have ridden most of my life (I am 60) and have owned two horses during that time. Most recently I have been riding dressage in the US, up to first level. I don't jump. I certainly can take lessons but I would prefer a part lease situation with optional lessons available. Any ideas would be welcome!

Re: [Vevey/Lausanne]Horse Riding - English speaking tutor/riding companion required.

I have yet to explore fully, but I did get reccommendations from a parent at my daughter's school. My daughter has decided she will not ride here - for now - but I will once settled.
The stables I was pointed to are mostly above Lausanne. I hope to find something closer to home - maybe Nyon or Gland? I see riders in the area often.

Here are the names I was given :

There are three big equestrian stables (Chalet a Gobet, Manege au Mont, Malapalud). The best one being Malapalud. And then there are a hundred small ones with private horses and private trainers (Bournens, etc).

Please post or PM if you find something you like. I was taking instruction in the US (hunter/jumper) and I hope to ride again soon.

Do you live in Nyon or Gland??? That would be so nice if we were close! Thanks so much for the names. When I take the train up to St Cergue there seems to be a stable along the way but I have yet to find its name. Ok, stupid question here, how do you PM on this forum?
