Hi all

Ive been living in lausanne for 9 months now, but just flew my clubs over last week and with this beautifull weather is super keen to find a couple of golfing buddies in suisse / Lausanne.

I have found 2 or 3 golfclubs in and around lausanne, but since I currently do not have a car yet and it seems that golf in Switzerland is reserved for the ultra rich and famous, I have yet to find anyone else around here that plays golf....

soo... If theres somebody out there, please gimme a shout. I am currently playing off a 11 handicap (South African) as a bit of extra info.

Im in geneva and a golf addict too. It's difficult to play without a car but there are a lot of golf course around lausanne. The nearest public course is up at Signal de bougy, they accept walkin but it is best to call. The more exclusive clubs like Lausanne, Montreux, Lavaux, etc... accept reservations during weekdays.

There's another golf course here in Gland, right next to Michael Schumacher's mansion.

I would love to play but I'm not that great, don't have clubs and can't afford it, to be honest. So probably not your ideal partner.

Just arrived Nyon last month and will stay for the next three years or so. Brought my clubs and is eager to get out there on the battlefield.

I´m prepared to drive to Prangins, Nyon, Lausanne, Geneva, Divonne or ...? really doesn´t matter. Just want to get started.

I have been in Switzerland for 2 years, did not really try to play since I knew it was quite an expensive and exclusive game here.

Did anyone find a reasonable course around Lausanne? maybe France?

I can recommend Domaine Imperial. Not sure what the green fee is, but check out their website. Great locale, great terrace to sit on after the round gazing over the lake to Mont Blanc. I am a little biased about this course, for certain reasons.

Bonmont is ok, not great.

In Epalainges there is Lausanne GC that whose greens were remodedled some 15 years ago. Nice environment and the layout pretty good use of land.

Evian across the lake, where the ladies play their pro tourney, fine course.

Migros has a 'public golf' at Signal-de-Bougy, which I have never played and only seen from clubhouse and some parts of the road. Its OK I guess, but I seem to recall the green fees being somewhat high!

There is the Business Club just north of Bulle.

And the course above Lavaux which doesnt really do it for me.

I'm 37, if you're worried about the hills at Lavaux... Anyway, I'm also around Vevey, so that short par 29 by Villeneuve is a good place to do a quick 9 and meet up. PM me sometime if you're interested.

If anyone want to teach me golf. I would love to go golfing someday I only annoyed the golfers with our Cricket back in the public parks of Welly.

For a very cheap day of golf in a very different setting - try the
Golf de Pontarlier les Etraches, in the nearby French Jura. The course is set in the clearings of the Jura mountains- owned by 2 young French guys, very friendly, with shooting range and a couple of pros. About 1 hour from Lausanne. 18 holes for 39 Euros - best value ever.
