Anybody know of any swimming lessons for adults around the Kilchberg area?
I thought I should try and improve my "gasp and struggle" stroke technique, seeing as I have plenty of time currently - NOT working. He he..
Oh, also, the lessons being in English would help - haven't started my German language classes yet.

Yes, I have finally found somewhere... well, sort of!
Here's what I know : The classes will be in Adliswil, quite near the Migros there. It's going to be 175 chf for 7 lessons and will be held midweek evenings. The teacher speaks English.. I've been assured.
Here's what I don't know : The person in charge has promised to send some info but not mailed it to me yet. This would include the exact address and what this place is called!
From our phone conversation, I've been told it'll start on 19th Aug, but that I should receive some info before then! They'll be held in smallish groups and we'll be learning the 'crawl'.
I can let you know once I receive more info soon.

Finally, I found the place! I still have not received the form to join (via mail), so I went and picked up some info personally.
The place's called Adliswil Hallen- und Freibad im Tal. The contact name for the Aqua Active section is Eveline Rathgeb - phone # 055 244 24 34. (www.aqua-activ.ch, site currently under construction seems like),
I was told that the swim instructor spoke english, so this may work for us Eng speakers.

*sigh* It's things like this that make me regret working full-time again... as I am a qualified swim instructor (in Australia, at least) and enjoy teaching people how to swim - I find the adult classes more rewarding than child classes generally, as all of the adults are there because they want to be... hope your lessons are going well!
Oh, and at the moment there is no chance I can teach anyone to swim... perhaps by next summer I'll have something sorted...

Sorry, no ... although through my work I am in contact with a company that gives swimming lessons around the Zürich area, including the pool near Zollikon (Fohrbach?). The company's called Zollicuda, (http://www.zollicuda.ch) and there are at least two staff who speak excellent English (including the boss, who also teaches). If they're in your area, give them a try.
