Or Torgon. About same distance - the first resort of the Portes su Soleil area.
They mainly for British clients so all instructors speak good English. If you want to stay for a week over the New Year they have a really good deal. They also do 'fillers' during the season at an excellent price - when they have groups which do not fill all their accommodation - but most groups are school groups and can be a bit noisy. Great fun, great atmosphere- I've used that small company based in Greenwich for many many years. The owner and his managers live on site, so are always there to deal with any problems. (that is Gerry, Becky and Ollie.

They do all their own ski and snowboard hire- excellent equipment, and work with the ski school on a day to day basis, in English of course.
Most of the staff are young, British, Aussies or Kiwis and love skiing or boarding - many return for several seasons. They have small dorms for 4 with own shower and WC in the chalet next to the dining-room/lounge for families and small groups and studios above. This is right next to the first slope and ski school. They also have lots of apartments spread across the village- some at Les Cretes are a fairly steep 10-15 mins away. The skipass included covers a huge area- Torgon, Plan de Croix, Chatel and Super Chatel, Chapelle d'Abondance, Morgins, Champoussin (you can pay extra to link to Champéry les Crozets and Avoriaz for the day). Any questions about those guys, just ask. Or e-mail or phone them - tell them Odile says hello!
