New Gym in Zug

http://www.mountaintraining.ch/ started up in Grienbachstrasse 15, Zug about two months ago, and it's a small but very nice, no-nonsense gym.

No wellness programs, no zumba classes, no slim belly stuff, no pilates, no power plate, no body toning classes or magic zirkels. Just a small and basic gym with all the equipment you need for a proper weight training session and nothing more.

For a warm up or a fat burning session after your workout they have is 2 running machines, a few bikes (spinning bikes as well as the normal ones) and four eliptic machines, and apart from that there are new weight machines all around (with ample weitghts), and a section with free weitghts and olympic bars for your squats, deadlifts, bench etc. Dumbells up to 25kg atm, but will be completed up to 60kg.

The prices are unbeatable as well. Less than half of what the Migros gym down the road is charging, and no join up fee. I went to see it last week, and joined up on the spot. Best place i have found in CH so far, so if you are looking for a place to get a proper gym workout and not having to pay for all the extras that you probably never use anyway, then this place might be worth a look.

Re: New Gym in Zug

This is great to know. Although it's very close to my apartment I wasn't aware of it. I was put off Migros gym purely by the prices. This is significantly cheaper. Thanks for recommendation!

Re: New Gym in Zug

I second Starald's recommendation for this place. I went down there yesterday and was impressed with it. All nice, clean and new and no paying for extras like classes that I would never use. And the price is a LOT lower that the Migros gym in Zug.

Jupp. As stated it's a small place, so only two showers in each changing room ( I assume.. ) but you will definitely be able to hide your shame.

Re: New Gym in Zug

I checked this place out on Friday.

This a proper no nonsense gym!!!!

The guy who runs it is a huge bodybuilder and know his stuff.

The official announcement will be next week on our website, but its looking like this will be my rugby clubs official training gym.

I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a serious workout.

cheers

Re: New Gym in Zug

Do they have resistance machines?

I am just doing circuit training at the moment to build up endurance and tone up before I start getting back into doing some weight training.

it's possible I will be moving into that area early in the new year

Re: New Gym in Zug

There might be light at the end of the tunnel if there are any of those "nasty early birds" out there..

They have had a few people asking for earlier opening hours, and if they get enough people interested, they are considering offering this (at least a couple of times a week as a start).

This means that if this is a condition for joining the gym, or at least something you would be happy to make use of if it's available, then drop by and have a chat with them so that they are aware of the genuine interest for this option.

Re: New Gym in Zug

Does anyone know if they plan to extend their opening hours to earlier in the morning? I prefer to exercise before work so opening at 0900 is too late.
