Can anyone recommend a good beginner ski school (adults, no kids, too humiliating ) somewhere reasonably near Vaud for the first week of January? We have a couple coming in from out of town and the guy is a good skier like my husband and the lady is an absolute rookie like me. We both agree that the consequence of our hubbies teaching us skiing would likely be homicidal. Can anyone make any suggestions?

The Ski school in Torgon is very good as they are used to deal with English speaking adults. One of the closest ski resort to Lausanne- and great for the chaps who want to cover miles - as it links with Chatel, Super Chatel, Chapelle d'Abondance *France Portes du Soleil - and Morgins/Champoussin/Les Crozets/Avoriaz.

Wow, apparently they also have solid hot chocolate in case of emergency ;-) Look at the souvenir cow mug! Too cute!

Used to organise school ski trips to Torgon all the time- the Ski School and the Chocolate shop was at the other end of the building where we had meals and entertainment- right next to the slope. There is also a traditional Pizza place next to the beginners slop. The hot chocolate is like the Italian stuff, where a spoon will just stand in the goo. Yummy.
