I would like to join an amateur eishockey team in the Zürich area. Can anyone help me where to begin?

Try this link to the Regio League in Eastern CH. There is a list of clubs in each division. I think they are all amateur, an acquiaintance plays in the 3rd League.

If you are working for a bigger company they may have a team.
There are lots of teams in Zürich Area.

Also I know of some Rec. Hockey In Wettingen.
Weekend Games and Weekly training.

Both Dolder and Heuried have pick up hockey multiple times a week as well, check their websites for exact times

On that note--I will be at Heuried for pickup hockey tonight from 20.15 – 22.00.

Usually there's a good crowd, all levels of skill, and a smaller match up for the beginners/kiddies.

For those interested, it's 7 francs entrance, and you can check the website for all the times. Pick-up pondesque-hockey is known as 'Chneble' here for those who are new. All you need is skates and a stick. (although gloves are very common, and shin/knee guards are useful as well)
