Snowshoes course in English

Hi all

I'm interested in guided snowshoes tours or courses but my German is really poor. Do you know if there are snowshoes tours or generally winter sport schools also in English (or if usually the guides speak a little bit of English)? ù

Thanks

Just out of curiousity, what is your hope for the guided tour? Learning to snow shoe? To make friends? To practice speaking? To not get lost?

If the former, it's easy enough to do on your own. Strap them on and walk, and enjoy your newfound ability to scale and descend steep slopes. It's my favourite winter sport!

I'm looking for a guided tour not to learn to snowshoe, there is nothing to learn, it's natural as walking, but because it's too dangerous to go out on the mountains on my own in winter, especially in areas I don't know.

Hi there,

You might want to sign up to this group. They organise summer hikes, ski trips, snowshoe tours for the English speaking community. They are not experts although some of them are quite experienced hikers and quita familiar with the Swiss mountains. I have only been on a summer hike but it was good fun!
