There are several Oberwils in Switzerland and with location 'Basel' you live near the wrong one.
Have a look at the little map and you'll see where the skilift is. It's out Spiez / Zweisimmen way, in canton Berne.

No that map shows its the Oberwil in BL near bottmingen

Well I don't care much really one way or the other but last time I was in Oberwil BL it wasn't at 900m and there wasn't much near there at 1550m.

You're both right -- both Oberwils are shown on the dreadful map provided by that webpage.
But the ski resort is clearly not in Baselland.

There are good reasons why people don't want to end up in Oberwil, Zug.

Basel-Land could do with some ski resorts though (and some snow and 2000m+ mountains). Maybe this is why airlines keep advertising Basel as "the gateway to the Alps"

I've emailed them to let them know they got the wrong Oberwil!
