[Zurich/St Gallen] looking for womens football club

Hi

I've been in Switzerland for awhile now and haven't been very active since I moved here. I played football for 6 years in high school (I'm not that great..) and love watching/playing. I've got a thing for Arsenal. GO Gunners! Anyways was wondering if there are any womens football club around the zurich/ st.gallen area cuz it'd be a great to keep fit. I know there are local swiss clubs but friends have told me that they are really amazing and the language barrier certainly adds on to the intimidation. Thanks.

Gina

Re: (looking for) womens football club

Thanks for the link Nick, but I too struggle a bit with language barriers (although I am working on it) and I find it hard to work out what's out there from the aeb. I am interested in playing ladies football, but in the Basel area and I'm also average so don't want to join a scarily serious club.
Anyone know anything that fits the bill?

Re: [Zurich/St Gallen] looking for womens football club

Hey guys, how are you?

I've also been looking for a friendly football team to have fun and make some friends. Language is also a problem for me but not a big one, since I guess when u play u don't have to speak so much anyways, right?

I was told it is a good idea to look on the internet for smaller teams that play for your neighborhood or city, since they re not playin in such a unique-special-professional level that is hard to keep up to.

Lemme know if u find something interesting. Perhaps we could start a team ourselves :-)

Re: [Zurich/St Gallen] looking for womens football club

Hello,

I'm also interested in playing...I played for ages in my teens and would be great to get back in shape. I saw some ladies playing outside ikea in Dietikon but the language barrier...

Any ideas on if there is an existing team or how to get a team together?

Cheers!

most clubs have teams with different levels of ability. language is not really a barrier once you're on the pitch, just look at Carlos Tevez! Apart from joining an organised club, I don't see any option of playing regularly

The links posted by Nick above are what you need.

For what it's worth I met the women's team, FC Staad, who are in the canton of St Gallen and everyone was really friendly, the coach spoke English but training was in German, three times a week.

They're in the top ten womens teams in Switzerland though, but I don't know if you can just go for the training or whether you have to be of a certain standard to go to practice. If I were you, I would email a club near you through the links on their websites and ask them politely if they could tell you how you can get involved.
All of the women play in their spare time and don't get paid for their efforts, so they all seemed very committed!

Re: [Zurich/St Gallen] looking for womens football club

I've been in touch with a local football team and I will visit them soon.

In the other hand, I think would be fun to form a team so that we could play without any compromises and have some fun on the side.

So how many women are interested so far?

I would be easily "in" for this "easy" trainning!!! I´ve been searching for a long time something like this but difficult to find something! I Loooove soccer but at the same time I am scared about getting involved with a serious club and not be able to join competitions and all trainments...the commitment every club request. Are you people in Zurich region?! That would be great! Looking foward to hear about YOU all.

women´s soccer zurich

hi guys,

In autumn I already tried to set up a hobby-women soccers team.
I started to play and train with a serious team here in Zurich.
The girls are very very nice but I can´t do all the commitments and I don't want to do all the games every weekend...
It´s just too much and I am not really professional so it would just be perfect to create a hobby team!!!!

I already have some women that would be interested too!!!
I´m gonna ask them and set up a doodle list for a first date to meet! (maybe first meet somewhere to talk and discuss)

Any women from Zurich that is interested in joining our team please send me a PM
