Zurich Marathon

Hi,

A few months back I have moved from Sydney to Thalwil with my husband. I am about to sign up for the Zurich marathon (I know crazy New Year resolution.....) and I am looking for running partners around Thalwil/Rueschlikon/Kirchberg/Horgen. I am aiming to do the marathon in 4hrs.

Any volunteers or suggestions with regards to running clubs nearby?

thanks!

Re: Zurich Marathon

I would enter the zurich marathon but the route is so BORING .... run down the gold coast and back (save for a small detour around the city) .... so as you are running down, on your left you have folk closer to the finish line running past you ... thats depressing no ?

There is a group of people that run every tuesday and every thursday.
Great way to meet new people, and also to get to know the streets of Zurich.

If you think that's bad, you should have done it the year that 8Km of it was in the Uetliberg tunnel.

I think the course is quite pleasant with nice views of the lake and the mountains.

To the OP - there is, or used to be a group of runners who train for the marathon who meet in Horgen.

I'm not sure who but if they're still doing it then there's probably someone on this forum that knows and will reply.

Re: Zurich Marathon

I will endeavour to restart the Wednesday running group - but that will probably only happen post-Zurich marathon.

Re: Zurich Marathon

Thks folks, maybe im been harsh on the ZH marathon plus its probably a good way to keep the whole thing flat. I just remember in previous half and full marathons the worst part was running down something you knew turned 180 degrees and could see the people miles in front of you (of which there will be a lot in my case)

I saw that as a positive thing. You could run in the race and watch it at the same time

Um, it never went away in spirit, but we now kind of hang with our coaching savior from the Hillseeker clan at the Sihlhölzli Athletics Center from 7 to 8pm.

Check out the link here.

Re: Zurich Marathon

I'm entered as well. It will be my first Zurich marathon, and I am not sure what to expect. I ran Luzern in October and that was psychologically challenging with two loops. Still, I am very much looking forward to it. Happy training to everybody else signed up for it!
