| | | Kenjutsu - looking for training facility
I am looking for a training facility to practice traditional Japanese swordsmanship (Kenjutsu): Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu, Otake style.
Nothing posh, but due to training with (wooden) weapons, a minimal ceiling height of around 3.50m is required. Availability of Tatami would be excellent!
1 or 2 evenings per week and/or Saturdays (2 to 3 hours),
Location: Zug, Zürich region.
Looking forward to your suggestions/tips.
Many thanks,
Marcel.

I know a couple of people who do Eskrima.
Mondays and Wednesdays 8.15pm - 10pm in Zug.
If you are interested i can get the address for you.
I am not sure if there is a website or not.
Hope that helps.
cheers

KRW: different school, different style. But certainly worth a visit!
Jujutsu Zug: already had contact with them, they don't do Kenjutsu.
dojoguide.org: I found Katori Ryu in Romanshorn and Neuchatel, both a bit far away for evening trainings.
Nevertheless, thanks for your tips!
Best,
Marcel.

I think there's an Iaido dojo in Winterthur - I can dig out the contact email if you're interested - not sure on what style they practice though

My brain got so mushed I would actually like to take a look... Anyone knows where to find this specific one around Zürich?

Thanks, all, for your contributions. Either Iaido or Kenjutsu, it would be nice to get back into training. (There used to be Iaido Zug, but they are not active at present.)
KRW is reasonably priced (CHF480/yr) and not too far away. For that price, I doubt if I could rent any facility nearer by. I would like to see if their style is very much different from the Otake style, and decide whether I like that.
Compared to that, Jujutsu Zug is horribly expensive (CHF1200/yr). I am almost happy they don't do Kenjutsu :-p
Domo arigato,
Marcel.

Thanks for the link |
