As we seem to be acquiring a collection of Ski passes - forgetting to get the deposit back, or, in one case, being told that they're reusable, so we don't get the deposit back, does anyone know the scope of reuse? I.e can I take the ski pass I had from Feldberg, and hand it over when I buy a ski pass at another German resort. Or a Swiss resort. Or the one I acquired in Engelberg - will that be able to be recharged in Leukerbad?

I've tried this before. A cashier at Engelberg told me that they could check my card from another resort and see if they could load it, but it didn't work out - I don't know if they were incompatible systems, or if they simply are tied electronically to the resort they were purchased in. Best solution I've found is to keep them in an unused pocket and fish around each time I show up at a resort; I made 25 CHF last time I went to Flumserberg that way.

You can often recharge them on line, save time in the queue when it's busy.

When we got the PostFinance App, there was an offer to get a couple of Skidata cards free, which you can then load with the relevant ski pass. Unfortunately since getting these we have totally forgotten to use them, including when we went to Flims recently where we had to buy the passes and irritatingly, it's Skidata!!

I've looked on the PostFinance website, but I can't find anything about it. I'll keep looking...

Davos card is reusable at Davos and its for life so you dont get a refund possibility.

I also use a swatch ski pass watch which is rather handy at a few locations as you just had the watch over to be loaded up or load in via the internet.

Coop offers a Supercard "Ticket" that can be used/charged for 66 ski resorts in CH. The Ticket version of the Supercard is free but you need to order it. It might help reduce to the number of cards you have.

We managed to reuse our Flims cards in Davos at the weekend. No problem at all - I recharged one in the automatic machine and one at the manned ticket office.

It is possible to reuse the skidata cards at all resorts that use the skidata system. Whether they let you is another question.

It works in nearly all of Graubunden (still a few small resorts that use a different system). i.e. a card from Davos can be loaded in nearly all resorts in Graubunden and vica versa.

I have come across a few resorts that won't let you load another card in their resort even though they use the skidata system (which means it is possible). Pizol was one and Grindlewald was another. This is stupid though because they will still let you load the ticket on one of the Swatch ski watches which just contains the same chip as the card.

We were able to use our cards bought from La Berra in Charmey, Villars and Gstaad so far. Seems more and more resorts are switching to the Skidata system.

After boarding in Engelberg I stumbled across a machine in the car park where you could return cards and get your 5 francs back - I put all my various resort cards in there and got a lot of coins back. I don't know if its still there though?
