A few of the lads are coming over early March for a long ski weekend Thurs to Monday. Last time, we were fortunate enough to have a huge chalet in Arosa at our disposal so we spent the weekend there, this time however everyone is crashing at my place. What I want to know is, is it possible to get a multi resort ski ticket for a weekend? and/or worth it?
For example, we all want to go back to Arosa for at least one day, so prob do that on the Friday, and then my idea was merely Flumserberg for convenience for the rest of the weekend as will only involve 2 hours travelling a day. However, may want to also do another Arosa trip if we bore of Flumserberg or another resort all together. I have only been to three thus far, being the two mentioned and Hoch Ybrig, which may not be the best in SZ but, we dont want to spend half our time travelling of course.
I know they do the snow and rail tickets, but are these only for a day?
Any tips, ideas and suggestions welcome, including alternative slopes. Most of us are at intermediate stage I would say, except one beginner who struggled last time but has been dry slope practising since, so keen to see his progress . I only picked the sport up last year, but being local have managed to progress since last year and am comfortably doing all the reds at the resorts mentioned (if this bears any relevance what so ever).

From Zurich to Davos is only 1h 50min and there you can get an 'All park ticket' that's huge. You get 'Parsen', 'Jakobshorn' and another I think. Heaps better than Arosa I reckon and also the drive there is easier as Arosa has that last half hour of full twisty, windy roads.

I've been to most of the slopes within a few hours of Zurich and Davos wins for me, hands down....

Thanks. I will look into Davos, as I always hear good things, but, as we will be using trains, does that change anything? I have been by car to Arosa and know exactly what you are talking about though. I just find train travel in this country far easier.

Arosa was where I learnt, first place I went, and where my beginner friend struggled all last year and my other friend had a freak accident nearly chopping off his finger. So for various reasons, emotional, revenge, etc, we do want to go Arosa once.

Other than that, we're open to ideas.

So looking at trains seems to take 2hr 30mins. Not sure 5 hours of travelling a day is in the agenda, but I see your point for a better ski area.

Yeah by train it's a bit of a hike.

When I'm going by train I generally go to Flumserberg. The train stops right at the Bähnli. Ziegelbrücke I think the stop is called. Just the runs are too short but not too bad if you zig zag accross the mountain.

I'd go on the S2 and stay on it until Unterterzen if I were you. The S2 goes as far as that specifically for the skiing.

Yeah, think that will be the spanner in the works for this particular wkend, want to keep travel time down.

I done flumserberg three times now, and see your point, short runs, but there is a whole other area on the other side I not been to yet, so dont know what those runs are like. Plus, trying to bear in mind although I may have progressed since last jan, me mates wont have, haha.
Yeah, you change at Ziegelbrucke then onto Unterterzen, well thats what I have done.

haha, exactly, I think Arosa will always hold a place in my heart, being the first place I experienced, and because my mates wkend was cut short after his first run from the top, he basically didnt get to ski all wkened, so he wants revenge.

Certain special S2 trains at weekends in Winter go straight through to Unterterzen without there being the need to change in in Zeigelbrucke.

Makes it even easier if you are a large group.

If I remember rightly, with the half tax it was about 75chf for the ski n rail ticket. Quite a cheap day out really....

They do 2 nights including ski-pass for as cheap as 150chf per person (if you stay in a hostel.

Scuol isn't a huge party town though!
