extreme staircase climb - adventure sport - 11,

Hello,

If you like extreme races or challenging physical activities, I've found this hike/race/climb:

http://www.niesenlauf.ch/index.php?section=geschichte

I think I'm going to sign up soon and I began training last week. It's tough training without a partner but I'm going to try to motivate myself a couple of times a week.

Basically, it's a 11,600 step staircase up the mountain. Check out the gallery. It takes place in June and costs 48fr.

Using:

www.babelfish.yahoo.com/

You can translate the page.

Anyone interested :-).

*Bump*

Thanks for letting us know about this event!

I am interested but we realized that we're too far from one another as I live in Zurich. Anyone around Zurich interested as well and would like to train with me?

Or, for some sort of other adventure sport competition?

By the way, if so, best to PM me. Thanks!

This looks very groovy, I'd never heard of it before. Of course I have perfect calves anyway, but this might make them even more awesome!

Looks interesting, but I'm more into vertical bowling and underwater alphorn blowing.

Re: extreme staircase climb - adventure sport - 11,

Thanks for the tip. This looks right up my street - a good race for donkies. The competition seems pretty fierce. I imagine I could manage 1000m climb/h, which gets you a finish time of 1:40 & a crap position even in Herren 2, the old gits class, where I belong... I'm used to mountain races so maybe stair climbing is much easier . Or maybe I'm kidding myself...
