Kickball you ask?? If you're not sure what I'm referring to, you might want to watch the video below before you continue reading...
My husband and I just moved to Lausanne from Washington DC and have only been here a week. As of now, we are the only people we know and are looking for ways to meet people and make friends with other English speaking expats in the area (especially since we haven't learned French just yet). When we lived in DC, we played in a social sports kickball league and had an absolute blast doing it and made so many life long friends. It's actually quite popular in the US and is slowly starting to make its way into the UK as well. One of my good friends works for the WAKA organization and has said that he would be willing to help me get one started if there was enough interest, so I thought I would start here to see what people think!
It seems like because of the number expats and international students in the Lausanne/Geneva area who are also looking to make friends and meet people, something like this might be of interest to enough people that we could possibly start up a small league in the spring and summer months.
If interested, watch this short video clip. Any feedback would be much appreciated!
Stay warm!
Cheryl

welcome to lausanne and count us in, especially if you are making it a weekend thing come spring.
Thanks Amaraya! I'm also new to this forum, and I'm seeing stats like "thanked" and "groaned" but I'm not seeing an icon to "thank" you! So you can add this stat to your "thanked" column! ;-)
