| | | Ladies skiing/snowboarding Neuchatel/Yverdon area
Who'd like to join me for skiing/snowboarding on week days in the Neuchatel/Yverdon area? Either La Robella (Buttes, near Fleurier [NE] accessible by train), or Les Rasses, near St Croix (VD) above Yverdon, or Metabief/Mt D'Or (FRance, between Vallorbe and Pontarlier). And perhaps further afield at a later stage.
Conditions are just great at the moment - and brilliant weather forecast for Wednesday?

We'd come but have an appontment at 1.30 unfortunately.
Also T's helmet, gloves and googles (plus the ski boots rented from the school) went missing between being given to the bus driver in Zinal and arriving in Neuchâtel. Nobody has managed to find them yet. I'd blame him for being careless but he's not the only one so maybe not his fault this time. |

Yikes, I can't believe it!
So how about meeting next Monday - hopefully his stuff will have turned up by then?????
Gloves and goggles are not problem, but I haven't got a helmet to lend him- well I've got mine, size small which might be OK- as I only wear it for 'hard' skiing. What shoe size is he btw. I have all sorts of spares, size 6 boots, a few pairs of decent carver skis, size 6 snowboarding boots and a snowboard suitable for size 1m65/70 approx.
I can pick up from St Croix station if anybody is coming from Yverdon. Or in Fleurier- as said before the train Neuchatel (via Fleurier) goes to Buttes, just 50m from the bottom of the chairlift up to La Robella.

He'll be dead excited when I tell him. I really hope they find his stuff before then though. It's the helmet I'm most annoyed about as we bought him that as we figured it was pretty important. I'm not sure what will happen if they don't find the boots as we borrowed those from the school. Hope we don't have to buy new ones .
He is a size 40 so 6 1/2 or 7 in UK I think and about 1.60m tall.

So my daughter's ex size 6 would be not good for him! Where shall we go on Monday then? La Robella/Buttes? You could come up on the chairlift to the café at the top. Perhaps Kristin would come too?
In the meantime, still looking for somebody to play in the snow this week- hopefully tomorrow pm?

Good news is that the school has located my son's stuff so he will have it back before Monday hopefully. He won't have the ski boots however as he will have to give them back to the school. He could always try your ones as it does quite often depend on the boot and not necessaruly the number written on them.
I'll bring my Kindle and have a lovely time in the cafe with my mug of hot chocolate.
Will contact Kistanez too. I think she should be back now.

Nooooo nobody wanted to play
So on for Monday, but we will defo have to rent some boots and get the bindings adjusted properly for safety- not worth taking any risks. Let's hope it is not too sunny this week-end - so we still have some snow. So where shall we go? Buttes/La Robella is the easiest. Go to Fleurier, take the second turning into the village, opposite the campsite, past the college and over railway, then right at the roundabout. Buttes is just about 4 -5 km further. Past the station and then left by the Café- over the river and the resort car-park is there. Meet there 11am? There is a café at the bottom, but would be more fun if you took the chair up to the main pistes, so we can meet regularly.

Well done BelgianMum's son The conditions were very icy and the easy slopes were closed, so flying down the reds and black on ice was not easy - you did very well. And bombing it down the Cret de la Neige was fun too. Bravo. And the intrepid snowshoers enjoyed their walk in the wilnerness too.
Let's hope for some new snow for another play in the snow.

Snowshoeing is definitely easier than cross country skiing and much less painful.
A massive thanks to Kristanez for doing a briiliant job of calming my nerves on the way down in the chairlift. If it wasn't for her I'd probably still be stuck up there.

Don't give up on the skiing and start planting vegetables. Winter is back and we've had about 30cm overnight. Conditions for cross-country skiing in Les Rasses, Les Cernets, la Brévine and most of the Jura are excellent still.
And for downhill, most Jura resorts will keep opening with that new snow. La Robella, les Rasses and Métabief/Mont d'Or (just over French border, between Vallorbe and Pontarlier).
So if anybody wants to play in the snow, I am up for it.

Another glorious and sunny day, but with the fresh snow of the past couple of days. Snowshoeing, cross country skiing, downhill? Maybe the last week-end to do so for a while |

Just gorgeous up here again. Still up for an outing tomorrow.
Got snowshoes to lend, cross country skis and shoes to lend (depending on shoe size) and even skis and boots (again depending on size). OH is not feeling too good at the mo, so looking for company.

Can only go on ski lifts if my personal fear management counsellor is with me though.
Hope OH is feeling better soon.

Ahahah if you personal counsellor is available we could go to Les Rasses (near St Croix, fab views of the Alps) no need to take the chair (as your son won't be skiing with me this time as I suppose he will be in school) and choice of snowshoes, or cross country skis (remind me of your shoe size). It's all on the flat, and trip goes from one café to another! Could have lunch at les Cluds.
