you can take the train to Davos and assuming there's enough snow, at the end of the day you can board part of your way home, which is undeniably cool. The run is about 12km long and descends over 2000m.
Is this the run over Parsenn, ending in Klosters? Please specify someone. Sounds like heaven to me!

i have done this run, i googled it, i think its davos to küblis which is even much further than davos klosters.

its a great long run but if you are doing it on a snowboard, be prepared for aching legs unless you can ride both ways cause it is mostly cross country on a slope... ouch.

I prefer those urban uphill runs myself.

Kublis is at the end of the 12km run, although it's also possible to finish up next to the train station in Klosters.

It can get tiring on a board and there's a few moments when you're just PRAYING for some sort of downhill gradient, but it's definitely worth it.

if youre not looking like one afterwards...ok!
but its so good to bomb down the piste into some restaurant to have
boarders delight: schnitzel, fries, rivella and some kägi fret.

An abundance of snow and freezing temperatures attracted tens of thousands of Swiss to the ski slopes this weekend.
Did you go? Which resort? What were the conditions like? I'm looking for flights .

Re: How often will you go skiing or snowboarding?

flumserberg which was ace! two shitty things happened that the lifts at unterterzen and back again have been crowded and requested long waiting to get there. piste conditions were very good, clear blue sky, partly icey slope, the number of people on the pistes were ok, not too crowded. thanks god the sbb has class 1 carriers.
and...first time i saw a swiss grandpa going wild at one silly young boarder chap who wanted to "reserve" a gondola...and got smashed. made my day!

Tell us more. Grandpa, the boarder or the gondola got smashed , or all three in an all-in-tag-team-grudge-match ? We should be told.

Re: How often will you go skiing or snowboarding?

this was really fun!

krlock n me were lining up and we would have been the over next team for the gondola. in front of us , in the next group meant to enter a young chap waving to his guys close, but behind us. this silly guy entered the gondola and blocked the entrance with his board, saying "sorry, reserved". grandpa went mad like a bull and tried to push him into the gondola but couldt because of the board dumbass got with him. then grandpa Urs wrestled around his head an pulled him out! his arm was like a gripper, caliper! hahahaha! the boy jumped towards him and pushed grandpa back with his board and maybe he wanted to punch him. before i could follow the action more, we saw the gondola passing that grandpa so impressive cleared (for us) and entered in. from there we could see that the crowd took sides and pulled boarder boy aside and grandma for sure made goo-goo eyes on grandpa that he heroic interceded. and did not have to swallow his teeth after a punch. hahahaha! we were laughing for ages, man.

Re: How often will you go skiing or snowboarding?

I went to Flims/Laax yesterday and it was excellent. First up, it was the first time I've been to Laax since they opened the new bypass and it was excellent, well worth the 10 years or so it's taken to build!

The snow was good, amazing for November. I boarded right down to both Flims and Laax and after last Winter it's excellent to have the valley runs open again.

Nice sunburn too :-)

Flumserberg was indeed ace!

Top Tip for my fellow schwarzer shaffen; if you don't already have one, get your lift pass at the shack outside the Unterterzen lift and then walk up the middle aisle to get on the gondolas. Don't queue up the stairs to buy a ticket at the top.

We did this, and when we were walking up the clear stairs, people we'd been on the train with were only halfway up the stairs with the big queues...

Re: How often will you go skiing or snowboarding?

I'll be on the slopes both days most weekends, and at least one day every other. Plus two weeks at Christmas hopefully every day and maybe another week sometime in January/February and hopefully some random days off in between if there is stacks of fresh powder to play with.

Usually get 25 or more days a season (last year particularly bad), not worth while getting a season card though because I travel around too much.

Re: How often will you go skiing or snowboarding?

I'll be over to ski for 2 weeks in January.
I too prefer to travel around and you can also get good deals doing this if you can be flexible.
Also see Swiss Info article on low cost skiing here.
End of season is often good value too.
