Snowboarding this Saturday - Flumserberg

At Flumserberg this Saturday it will be snowing with a 20% chance of sunshine. Alas, not the best conditions, but I'll be going along anyway.

I am going snowboarding, because I need to get back into it as soon as possible. If anyone else is planning to go, please let us know so that we can meet up.

Re: Snowboarding this Saturday - Flumserberg

The weather looks dodgy all over the place. It's going to be snowing everywhere. This is the reason I am trying not to make too much of a trek.

I got that weather pic from the Flumserberg site. I check the weather from j2ski.com and then browse from there.

Someone else mentioned Davos ( you know who you are )

Re: Snowboarding this Saturday - Flumserberg

Ask the grumpy grapefruit we've got around here about Flumserberg. He lives right there. I live just a few km away, and this week it's been nothing but gloriously sunny and cold. Perfect snowboarding weather I'd say, and let's hope it lasts for a few more days. I'll check back tomorrow.

Re: Snowboarding this Saturday - Flumserberg

Is this a local place that you would recommend? We are just getting our snowboards out of storage and really are clueless as to the local mountains or as to where to go if we just want to go for the day. Any other resorts you would recommend?

This is probably a separate thread so sorry if I take everyone off topic.

Thank you!

Re: Snowboarding this Saturday - Flumserberg

Hello Hestia, you should use the search function, this being a forum about switzerland, there are mountains of information (hehe).

Basically though, flumserberg is one of the places that zurchers and zurcherins do go on the weekend.

Re: Snowboarding this Saturday - Flumserberg

No, you're welcome to gatecrash this thread.

Flumserberg is one of the Zurich 'locals' - it is by no means small and is excellent for snowboarding.

You can catch a train there from Zurich and it takes just over 40 minutes. From the station you can catch the lift up, and ride down to the station at the end of the day.

It is the best/closest to Zurich and is pefect for quicky boarding trips.

Check it out here

I would offer you a ride, but I've got this crappy roadster that only has space for a snowboard, or a girlfriend. Alas, she cannot join me.

Re: Snowboarding this Saturday - Flumserberg

I'm going to Flums too. I wanted to go to Laax but my colleagues bailed out and with this crappy weather it's not worth it (hopefully it will bring some snow though...).
So if anyone wants to go (by train), just PM me.
