Toggenburg for skiing/snowboarding??

Can anyone recommend this area (Unterwasser or Wildhaus) for skiing and snowboarding? How does it rate for beginners and intermediates?
Thanks!

Re: Toggenburg??

Great skiing and great views from the top. I skied there about 3 years ago, it was the first time I had been on snow skis in 16 years! Had a private 2½ hr. lesson from a young instructor who spoke excellent English. Didn't request an instructor in English he just happened to speak it well, he told me most of them needed to know English anyway because of all the ski tourists. After the refresher course I was even able to go to the top to enjoy those views and fantastic intermediate slopes.

Re: Toggenburg??

Thanks thats helpful. We are snowboarders and have had lessons but still beginners and need somewhere to practice, wide open slopes would be ideal right now!

Anyone else been?

Wildhaus is nice enough but my concern as a boarder is the wretched T-bar lifts are a pain.

Head to Flumserberg. Other side of the Churfirsten, but hey...

Toggenburg is much better area than Flumserberg, it doesnt get as busy because its harder to access from Z. Tburg is a great resort but fairly steep so I wouldnt recommend for beginners. Mostly red runs. Great for intermediates though

there are so many places to try , depends on how new you are to it , Atzmannig is a good place for learning and its very cheap 30 ish CHF per day ..

flums is great but gets so so busy if its a nice day , Elm is quite good to . my favorite place where i learnt was chur walden ...Lenzerhide region

have fun , be safe

I think we should arrange a EF day out snowboarding very soon

Re: Toggenburg for skiing/snowboarding??

Was there last year as part of S'n'R wannabe places and had great time. I did not find too many beginners areas at that time. It was rather challanging experience. It could have been weather effect though because it was overcast on that day. Other than that it is just a bit too far to go there more often and I had to change trains three or four times to get there from Baden. Give it a go...
