| | | Lausanne - Rock Climbing Partner
Hi,
I'm looking for a climbing partner. My current climbing buddy (another English Forum member) is on his way out of Switzerland at the end of this month. Right now we are climbing at a nice indoor climbing location Bulle. My indoor climbing grade ranges between 5b and 6a (French). I have all the climbing gear (rope, belay devices etc) plus a car (no need for trains). So all you need is a harness and shoes.
Climbing times: evenings and weekends
Cheers
Steve

Are you still looking? I also climb and looking for a climbing partner. I normally climb around 6a - 6c. I am interested in some craggin' after work in the week and maybe some longer routes in the mountains at weekends.

Hi,
Currently there are three of us (including Steve) who go to Bulle, often on Sundays, though we have managed to go during the week too. It closes at 10pm weekdays and is open 9am (?) to 5pm Sundays. It's a good place, lots of routes that get changed pretty often. It's all lead climbing, so you'd need a rope.
Not sure what we are doing this weekend (I presume we are going Sunday) so drop me a pm with your phone number on and I will let you know. Two of us have cars, it takes about 35 mins to get there.
Apparently there is a place in Vevey, though most people I have met have said it's not as good plus gets pretty crowded.

Hello Vivian,
I am leaving tomorrow for a two week holiday but when I return we should try and coordinate a bit. Do you live in Lausanne?
Cheers,
Steve

I will be living in Lausanne from August to October of this year, and I am definitely looking for someone to climb with! I lead pretty confidently up through 7a+ / 5.12a. I'll have all gear for sport climbing with me! Are any of you experienced with trad climbing?
sweet, thanks.

Ella,
Even though the place is still under construction it is very nice and will be more so once the entire complex is complete. I would join you but I will be in Sardinia on vacation (rock climbing and other stuff) so will need to take a rain check this time.

wahoo, local climbers. My hubby and I climb and have recently moved to st Cergue where the crag in the village is a bit hard (only 2 under 6 but quite a few short routes in the higher grades).
We used to climb a lot both trad, big alpine routes and sport climbing but have done other things in recent years so prefer upto 5c/6a for leading at present.
We'd be up for a mid week evening at St George if folk are interested while we still have long days.
Also worth a visit is La Goulette near Mijoux, for those wanting lots of easy routes.

Hi
This thread looks kind of old, but I'm triing. So Are you still going to climb frequently? I would like to go as well. I have shoes, harness, rope, etc. I don't know my level exactly, but I'm doing it one year ago. Actually my problem is that I dont have a partner. Im living in Lausanne, but Bulle also would be good, its not too far away. So let me know If somebody still looking for a partner, thanks!

I am a 32 year old female (have been climbing for 15 years ~ mostly bouldering and sport) I lived for many years in Colorado and just relocated from New York City to Lausanne. I only have my shoes and harness with me but since it's winter, I'm looking to climb in the gym. Please contact me if you are an experienced climber and would like to climb during the week or weekends.
Merci!

Hey ya'll (I hope this thread is still active!),
I'm a student in Lausanne and have recently taken an interest into climbing (went back to Singapore this summer and climbed three times- first time indoor, second time outdoor in Malaysia, and third indoor in Shanghai!) I'm kind of a beginner -5a 5b. So would love to be able to find some people to climb with to improve my skills. The only climbing gear I own are the shoes. I can't speak French, so it really would be great to find some people here to climb with. It's a great bonding sport and a great way to take your mind off things.
Look forward to hearing from ya'll!

Hi All,
I'm also looking for climbing partners...
I moved to Switzerland ( Lausanne region) in July but since then really struggled finding partners.
This summer I managed to squeeze in sone AD/ TD routes in Cham and some rock routes up to 6a-b sh, but I feel very rusty...
I hope that some of you could be interested on joining for some climbing ( any: indoor/ outdoor/ rock/ mixed/ alpine....)
Drop me a line if so: Giada.Pilo@gmail.com
Btw, as said I work in Lausanne/ live in Montreux, but I'm more than happy to move around in the week ends/ meet in the evenings in Lausanne during the week.
Cheers,
Giada

I'm pretty new to climbing (and V new to Lausanne), benefitted last year from working in a cafe in a climbing centre, I have harness and shoes and would like to learn to lead (can only top rope so far) I would love to get involved in some indoor climbing in the evenings (work at EPFL til 6ish), is there a standard EF climbing evening? Is anyone else at my level (mastered first English 6a recently but only indoors)? I'd really like to get soem practise in so that I can take advantage of the mountains when the snow melts in the spring!
