Road Biking Zurich area Sunday March 30

To celebrate the coming end of winter and the warm temperatures I would like to invite all road bikers to a 3 hour road ride on Sunday, March 30, starting at 9am from the Hotel Alexander in Thalwil.

Please post a reply should you desire to test your legs early in the year.

Should you want to propose an alternate starting point, please do so.

I am in for Sunday is that on the main road???? and where do you see the route for the daY?

The hotel is on the main road around the lake- if it is easier for you and you want less riding - I could meet you in horgen where the meilen ferry crosses (if you want to take the ferry). Routes- I was thinking of doing a ride of Hirzel- Baar-Zug-Sattell-Aegeri. It is a ride combining moderate climbing and flats. I think the recent snow may make my original route of Sattellegg and the Sihlsee a little cold and wet.Let me know your preference on meeting place

no, no that sounds, I am more or less in Zurich (seefeld) just a little up the lake so Thalwil is closer than meilen even. yes, probably Sattelegg would be nice but probably lots of melting going on.

Hey mike, thanks for showing your local ride, it was good fun, i think I will be ready for Etzel if not sattlegg next time (especially without our ski worn legs). Anyway, had the bonehead moment of the week when I got home realized by sunglasses were under my helmet the whole time. I thought the helmet was a little tight.

I will send you Garmin file if I can figure out how, though I tagged on another 40 k or so afterwards.

sounds good, it was good to get a ride in. Hopefully some of the other roadies in the zurich area will join/ or start a ride in the near future

Hi,

Just find the thread and missed the ride (I suppose it serves me right for doing searches using cycling rather than browsing the threads in this section).

As an enthusiastic beginner, I'll be interested in joining some group rides.

As much fun as cycling round the lake on my own is, it does get a little old after a while.
