The spring/summer season will reopen this 12th April on all the open clay installations in Zürich ( hoooraaay !! )

So, for all of you that want to play tennis this summer I will propose you to meet that weekend at the

Tennis Anlage Mythenquai
Mythenquai 200

Location Map

It is in front of the Mythenquai "beach"

Tram 7 stop "Brunaustrasse", then go down direction to the lake
Bus 161 / 165 stop "Landiwiese", it is just in front.

The goal again is to get together and so find suitable partners for regularly play during the April-October season.

So, this is a thread to see how many of you would be interested in coming and when would it be best for the most of you.

Saturday 12th or Sunday 13th.

I'm interested , i haven't played for quite a few years and not at a high standard but i'm keen.

I'm new to Zurich, and would really like to play tennis occasionally!!
I'm not a good tennis player though,I only took lessons for about 3 months back in Greece, but with some practice I hope to become better!
I will also join the tennis-gathering anytime in the weekend, so you can count me in!

Yes everyone is welcome, with you we would be already 5.

Please put your vote on the pool and like that we can organise it well and reserve the courts accordingly.

If we are a good number we could get a double court for 1 hour. That is a place with 2 courts and then we could play each other alternatively and see how do we match.

Another possibility is to get 1 court for 2 hours.

The hourly rate is 20 CHF per court for Satuday and Sunday 08:00-18:00

The prices for the rest of the week are

My boyfriend and I will probably be interested in playing.. my level is not so good.. his I would say intermediate.. better than mine! Can I ask if this is organized play, i.e. do you play with the same partner every weekend, is there single play, or is it just sort of like open play, whoever shows up just plays? You probably won't be able to answer the questions until you find out who is interested right? : )

This is a meeting to gather all people interested in playing tennis during the summer season that starts on the 12th.

The goal is to get together, know each other and probably find among the people that come a suitable partner or partners to then organise regular games.

So for this 12th/13th April Weekend, we are looking hopefully to have many people coming and hit balls together for 1 or 2 hours in 1 or 2 courts. It depends on how many people come.

I'll reserve the courts accordingly for that date.

I think we could even think on keeping this as a regular weekly informal tennis event. In the same way as the 5-a-side footy is held every sunday.

But the problem is that for that we need to reserve the hours and pay even if there is nobody coming.

Another possibility if there is enough people interested is to get a fixed weekly hour, this reduces the cost and we have even "weather-insurance" that is if we can't use some hours due to bad weather they can be recovered on other dates.

Let's see how many register during this weeks first.

That weekend is well timed for me, I move to Zurich on the Wednesday (9th) and would love to meet up to play tennis and meet some of the natives on Saturday. Please count me in.

Although I will join you the 12-13th weekend, I may not be able to play, since I do not have my Racket yet with me. I left it in Greece, and will bring it back next time I fly there on the 25th of April! Hope that's not a problem!
However, I'd love to join you, meet up, and see the courts etc..

As we have 4 for all weekend and 3 for Saturday afternoon, maybe the best is that we met on Saturday around 4, so we could have 1 or 2 hours and be free by 6.

However, the weather forecast doesn't look bright.

So we have two options.

1. Cancel and organize the meetup for next Saturday.
2. Meet anyway on an indoor court.

So I called the tennis club in Schlieren and reserved 2 side-by-side courts for Saturday 12th at 4pm.

However their price is still winter price until the 27th April. The courts are carpet courts and the price is CHF 50 per court, So it would come down to CHF 15 each of us or less if some more people would come.

We could also do 2 hours in one court if you prefer that, or maybe we do our meetup from 4 to 5 and if you still want to play we can get another hour.

Please confirm here if you will come or not, I can still cancel the reservation until friday 11th at 3pm.

So, given the fact that there's going to be so few of us this Saturday,I'd rather join you, but maybe not play this time?!?

The goal of the meeting is to get together and play so you can find other people on your similar level to then organise ourselves for the coming summer season.

It doesn't matter that you are a beginner or advanced.

There are other beginners and advanced on the list already so there will be probably someone adapted to your needs.
