Good Snowboard Store in Zurich?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any good snowboard store around here in Zurich? I've always rented my equipment on my snowboarding trips but now I wanna buy my own equipment as winter looms ever closer. Any tips on where to shop would be greatly appreciated!

can't wait till the snow comes,

Snowboard Garage has a bijou cellar full of boards, and they were very helpful regarding setup and bindings.

Re: Good Snowboard Store in Zurich?

I'm a snowboarding kook**, but worked in an office with a couple of Swiss snowboard nuts, used to instruct and work in shops etc...

They recommended this guy, often over shops they had connections to. He is an older guy who runs the business out of the large cellar at his home. Respected by boarders and kind of disliked by other shops because of the low prices he charges (low overheads).

I've visited the shop with my wife (a very good snowboarder) and she was very happy with the advice and service. Got her dream board and bindings there for a great price.

Personally, I have kitted myself on the cheap, as in this thread:

Re: Good Snowboard Store in Zurich?

Thanks guys! I'll check those places out.

I was kinda looking online for a bit and it's unbelievable how expensive some boards are here in switzerland. For e.g. a Burton Custom 06/07 board is USD 499.95 while one here in switzerland will set me back about USD 700. *phew*

c'mon and snow, darnit!

Re: Good Snowboard Store in Zurich?

does anyone know where to hand in the board for service?
to be more precise: any chance to keep it below 80chf?
thats what Jelmoli &co will charge for waxing, fixing the coating etc.

cheers.
