road cycling in geneva

Recently arrived via Shanghai but originally form Sydney. Have done a fair bit of riding but a little undercooked at the moment. Looking for a small group of road riders for 50 to 100km rides from Geneva to anywhere interesting. Tend to try and get out Saturday and Sunday mornings but understand a lot of afternoon riding occurs in Geneva due to the long days of sunlight.

Keen for any like minded members out there to meet up in the next couple of weeks

regards
David

Re: road cycling in geneva

Welcome to the forum, and to Switzerland. If you'd like to get involved in some mass-participation 'cyclosportifs' this summer, then check out this thread, and see the index on this website. It sounds like you'd certainly enjoy doing the tour of Lake Geneva, or 'Cyclotour du Leman', see this thread.

I ride quite a lot, but normally either alone or with my wife because I don't plan my rides more than a few hours to a day in advance, which makes it difficult to coordinate with anyone else. This is especially true given the current weather, when you have to be ready to jump on the bike quickly whenever it stops raining.

Re: road cycling in geneva

Hi mate

I'm new to the forum, but not to geneva, and regularly head out on the bike too, but similarly, it doesn't tend to be planned too far in advance. but send me a pm and we'll see. I tend to ride most weekends, and am gonna br trying to get out a couple of nights in the week too over the summer (praying for good weather).

Re: road cycling in geneva

Hi David,
I've recently moved to Meinier/Geneva from Sydney but still spend half my time in each location. I'm very keen to hook up with a bunch to do some riding so flick me an email on phil_mouret@verosol.com.au. I've already discovered Saleve (didn't have to look too far !) and also a good loop to the Col de Saxel and Boege in the Vallee Verte.
Cheers.....Philippe

Re: road cycling in geneva

I'll be arriving in GVA on April 29, and I'd love to get out for rides - weekends or evenings. My family will not arrive until late July, so I'll be very keen for regular rides.

I'm also looking to see a few stages of the Giro, Tour de France, and Tour de Suisse, if anyone is interested in a road trip or two - I will have an auto.
