Does anyone know where I can rent a road or triathlon bike in Zurich? I am coming for the 70.3 race on June 1 and plan to stay awhile so I would prefer to not have to travel with my bike. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Most rental places I have found online don't rent out road bikes. Thanks!
I was going to pose the same question on a new thread. I will be in Zurich for a couple of weeks in August. Here in Los Angeles there are a couple of shops that rent out decent demo road bikes by the day, or even by the week. They aren't great bikes, usually aluminum frames with 105 components, but they are fine for training rides.
I've been to Zurich loads of times, but never since I've taken up cycling again. Now I'm eager to get out those beautiful roads.
Thanks Chris. I called them and they do rent Trek 1000's. Unfortunately, I am 1.9 meters tall and they didnt have any large bikes to rent.
However, they did direct me to Temp Sports (http://www.tempo-sport.ch). I called and they said they do rent road bikes but requested that I email my request, which I've done.
I will post back about what types of bikes they rent when they reply.
I have found that the following shops rent good quality road bikes: www.tempo-sport.ch -- Cannondale Synapse www.velo-elsener.ch -- Specialized Roubaix Expert.
Both shops were very easy to deal with. Velo-elsener was significantly less money. Tempo wanted 700 CHF for 2 week rental while Velo-elsener wanted 380.

Same question from me in the Lausanne/ Geneva region. A mate is going to come over from the UK to do weekend road trip down to climb Alpe d'Huez and Mont Ventoux and only has a MTB so he wants to get his hands on a decent road bike. Any ideas?
I read from this post that cyclomundo rents out “road bikes”. Anyone used them?
Cheers K
P.S. he is 181cm and normally rides a 21 inch frame P.P.S. not sure why he gave me his height in metric and the bike frame in imperial… 21inches = 53.34cm out of interest
