Re: Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding is on for tomorrow.. if there is anybodyelse interested...

Details:
- Start from Zürich HB (I live in Brugg AG).
- 10:32 train from Zürich HB to Friborg
- From Friborg it's a local train to Estavayer-le-Lac.

This would get us to Estavayer-le-Lac for about 1300 when the place opens to the public.

Send me a private msg if you want to come along....

Re: Wakeboarding

Another great day at Estavayer-le-Lac! (http://www.alphasurf.ch/)

This time I was joined by Pouria who had already done quite a bit of wake and kite boarding. After a leisurely train journey across Switzerland and a stroll through the picturesque village of Estavayer-le-Lac we arrrived at the lake side ready to book our 2 hour pass. Rather refreshingly (when you live in the über pünktlich Zürich) They'd decided to open late, so we sat and soaked up some sun until they were ready to start.

The water was a lot flatter than last week, which is great for relative novices like myself. Both Pouria and I made loads of circuits, I overcame my fear of the final turn and was able to complete 3-4 laps back to back. Pouria was perfecting his tricks and so inevitably spent some time swimming. Big respect to Pouria for having a go at starting by jumping from the high platform, even more respect for pulling it off.

Anyhow after such a fantastic day we cant wait till next weekend. already in the calendar for Sunday is a trip to Pfullendorf. (http://www.wasserskipark-pfullendorf.de), but if there is enough interest we may check out the club on Zürisee (http://www.snowboardgarage.ch/) on Saturday.

Now I'm really hooked and will be going every weekend, PM me if you'd like to join.

Re: Wakeboarding

Hey

Anybody up for some wakeboarding this weekend?

If someone has a car we can go to Germany http://www.wasserskipark-pfullendorf.de/

Failing that Estavayer-le-Lac http://www.alphasurf.ch/ is quite easy by train.

Or otherwise there's always the possibility of going behind a boat on Zürisee http://www.snowboardgarage.ch/

PM me if you are interested.

Hi everyone!

I am looking for people who would be interested in wakeboarding. I moved to Switzerland at the end of last year and realised that over here you can only wakeboard behind a boat as there are no cables.
The only problem with this is that it can get very expensive so I looked around and found the nearest cable in Germany in Pfullendorf http://www.wasserskipark-pfullendorf.de
I went there last week, it was about 1 and a half hours drive from Zurich and it really is a great place, cheap too!
If anyone would be interested in going there let me know, it would be more fun then going alone. I can go during the week or weekends.
Email me on info@acreer.com

Cheers
Attila

Re: Wakeboarding

The wetsuits can be hired as part of the equipment/tow costs. Although it's not cold and there are now people riding without wetsuits.

Re: Wakeboarding

Hi

Just a quick question, do you rent a boat on Zürichsee and use your own gear or do you hire the boat, driver and equipment? Do you know if there is a big difference in price between the two options above or does it work out about the same?

Ta muchly

Last time we went we paid 55 chufs each (2 people) for a boat and driver. I think it gets cheaper if you've got your own kit and also if the whole boat is hired on a time basis.

Wakeboarding this weekend

I'd like to go wakeboarding in Germany this weekend. It's about 90 minutes drive from Zürich and the venue http://www.wasserskipark-pfullendorf.de/ is perfect for complete novices (this is where a started a couple of months ago).

I dont have a car so am particularly keen to hear from anyone who has a car and would like to join me. Failing that I'll probably hire a car.

The cost for 2 hours on the cable including equipment hire is about 28 EUROs

I may also go for a session on Zürisee http://www.snowboardgarage.ch/ sometime over the weekend too, PM me if you are interested.

Re: Wakeboarding

Most of the places I go are easily reachable from Zürich, not Basel, but I think there are places that can be reached easily from Basel too.

I occasionally go to Estavayer-le-Lac http://www.alphasurf.ch/ which is as near to Basel as Zürich

Re: Wakeboarding

Zuggersee is much nicer for boarding, less wind and less boat traffic. A shop called Mr Goodfun in Zug runs a boat every day during the summer and provides all equipment, drivers are always friendly and helpful, the manager of the shop (Andy) is the ex world amateur Champion!

Enjoy!!!

Re: Wakeboarding - I'm Basel-based

Hi everyone,
I moved to Basel 4 months ago and have just bought my board over from the UK - this forum has been great to find where to wakeboard around here.

It would be good to get onto a cable soon or try behind a boat for the first time. I don't know if this link is still active, but private message me if you're interested in joining up to go somewhere. I have a car which might help if the train is a hassle.

Tim

Re: Wakeboarding

Does anyone here wakeboard on Lake Neuchatel? I know I've seen people out there but I just moved here and don't know anyone yet. Would love to get out on the lake though.

Re: Wakeboarding

I went there a few times last year http://www.alphasurf.ch/

The place is run by a friendly bunch, but the prices are much higher than in Germany and the water is sometimes quite choppy.

Re: Wakeboarding

Quick note for wakeboarders…….

Lake of Lugano is described as one of the best laces for wakeboard in Switzerland as there is not a lot of traffic and the water is very warm.

Youuuuuu need to try it out... we only got 1 month left
