| | | Darts - where can i buy a decent set here?
Hi all,
Does anyone know where i can buy a good set of darts here in Switzerland (Zurich preferably) without the 'hassle' of having to shop online from the UK or US?
Cheers in advance,
Brett

Was looking for some darts yesterday, eventually found some at Manor, but they were soft tips. The tips are replaceable and they also sold seperate steel tips, but was really looking for proper darts, anyone found any anywhere?

I saw that the local Lidl in Zug had an electronic dart board for sale recently which I thought was a tad odd.
I doubt if there were any quality darts for sale though.
I just thought, the Bowling/Pool hall in Sihlbrugg has a few dart boards and sells amongst other stuff, darts. Maybe your local Pool/Bowling/Darts place also sells them.

And I guess you can order on line what you want. But there should be also a shop in Zürich. One of my friends played in the Swiss league years ago, and he's from Zürich.
Oh PS: And visit Ben's page. There you get all infos you need I guess. He's a very nice guy! http://www.darter.ch/ |

Saw darts in Franz Carl Weber, Zurich the other day. Not sure what sort of quality they are. They also have loads of different flights, only spotted them because my son was asking what the flights were |

In Zurich, Franz Carl Weber was the best option I found but very expensive. I ended bringing a bristle board plus sets of darts over from the UK for our works team for a fraction of the price.
A lot of the pubs here only have the plastic type boards with silly darts, so asking them is not really an option.
Otherwise the darts shop in Bern that somebody already mentioned.

Ah yes, I remember Migros-sport had darts a few years ago, too. Not very good ones. Same With Franz Karl Weber. If you really want to play you have to test a few. You can't in Migros or Franz Karl Weber. Anyway, stop by at Ben's HP, you can ask him, too. (Look my older post.)
Look also at Vaucher and other sport shops.

Where do you play? Used to be very keen in my miss-spent youth and would not mind dusting off the arrows!

There's a darts section in this online shop "Upstairs".
I've ordered pool stuff from them before and can recommend the service - fast and efficient.

Thanks all, thought this thread was dead and buried, but good to know that it may be helping some folk.
To be honest, I usually only play when meeting up with friends from the UK, not played here since I moved apartment 6 months ago. It is a bit annoying though, having to take seperate hold luggage just for a set of darts (metal-tip of course)!
I'll check out the online shop in Bern, sounds like the most comprehensive selection.

We have a good range of Unicorn softtip and steeltip darts along with bristle, paper and electronic boards. We're not far from Zug/Zürich too. All darts are on display and can be tested first. Tungsten & Brass, 16g - 29g are all on stock. http://www.discountsports.ch/darts-c-122.html |

I almost bought a 6' snooker table but could not find how much shipping might be....

I deliberately included this in the article description so as not to make potential customers have to endure the terribly painful checkout process just to find this out. This dreadful cart will either be replaced or optimised sooner rather than later.... |

Of course without pre-arranged consent, I cannot complete the checkout
89 is a bit steep for delivery, though. Not as steep as 130 though! Will they assemble it for me? |

Good luck with the consent, it's a stylish piece of furniture you know!
This has to be shipped with a transport company as too bulky for the Post or a Courier. Those living in the French part (who seem to be more snooker and darts fanatical) benefit most from the fixed shipping cost.
For those in the German part, I always say make a day trip to Lucerne and pick the table up. Last customer took it away diagonally in his A4 estate.
