Skydiving

If I wanted to try skydiving for the first time, in switzerland, something like a tandem jump rather than a course, can anyone recommend who to do it with?

Re: Skydiving

Im not sure about real skydiving, but something very accessible is bodyflying.ch which is the largest indoor tunnel in Europe where you can actually simulate skydiving, you fly out of the top of the building, its very cool.

Re: Skydiving

Nice site, for an extra CHF75 i think its worth going to 18,000ft.

Plus CHF150 between us for the DVD (a must really).

So all in for CHF 560

Re: Skydiving

Ok, so i am on hols the first two weeks of july, and i do not want to spend my hols being worried about the skydive, so i will arrange it soon upon my return, for something like early august.... could be great to have a weekend in interlaken anyhow!

if you are in for that, we will pick it up again there.

Re: Skydiving

A good friend of mine is a seasoned speedskydiver and skydive instructor. You'd have to come all the way here, but his prices are nowhere near the 400 CHF i've seen there...

Re: Skydiving

if you look hard enough (or not that hard actually), there are plenty of skydiving disaster videos on youtube. best not to think about it.

Re: Skydiving

Have you got a link to his site Shorrick??

If it works out alot cheaper the difference can be put on a hotel and train fare perhaps.........never been to Geneva either.

Its 3 hours by train from Zug to Geneva.......how long do you think it would take by car out of curiosity??

He doesn't have a site. This is his passion, not his dayjob They also jump out of Fribourg and thereabouts at times.

At least three as well. I wouldn't bother with a car.

Re: Skydiving

I went up with them last summer! Definitely try to get pics and a film done (I know it is alot of money).

I jumped at 15,000 and it was great- the only thing I didn't care for was when he spun me around ALOT at the start (for sensation) and um, me no like! (next time I know better)

There's more to this... Scott yanks the cord and the chute opens - NOT. If you look closely you see Scott pull something by his right nipple and in a forwards motion - this is the main canopy RELEASE. His instructor then pulls the ripcord which opens the main.

Watch it again around the 30s mark - the instructor grabs Scott's hand, guides it towards the rip but then lets go and moves his own hand to Scott's back (behind his kidney) and pulls sideways away from Scott's body...

(I've got a video of me breaking my ankle on my 31st and last jump )

Re: Skydiving

I did a tandem jump from a helicopter a few years ago in Speck.....can't find the details of it just now,but I'll post em when I find it. It was great and like someone said earlier it's WELL worth it to get a video made of you doing it. Getting to see the look on your own face as you make that leap out of the aircraft is priceless. Next time I'm taking an anti sickness tablet before hand though...........don't think the altitude change agreed with me Think I too paid about the Fr 400 mark
