A few friends and I would like to play the occasional friendly game of softball (slow pitch, co-ed) in the Lausanne area and wonder if there is anything like this going on or if anyone is interested?

We have a team in Zurich and are looking for people to play...we have a pretty nice field as well. We could also schedule a trip to you guys if you have enough people.

I could definitely be persuaded to join in Lausanne and maybe a friendly travel match here and there. Can one find softball equipment in Swiss sporting goods shops?

Such a shame we all live so far apart, I played a bit, in that "other life" and would love to get back into it.
Trouble is, the ones that play here are way too club like, i.e they want to play regularly, a bit too serious for my liking (and capabilities) these days.

My biggest problem was way back then, when I first came here and wanted to try and do something, was the lack of gear.
I stopped looking years ago, is it possible to get proper bats, balls and gloves here now?
Should have a look again and see what's going on around over here these days, maybe there's a friendly game going on around here somewhere too, otherwise I guess I should try and roust up a few of the ones I know around here for a game.

I 'spose the rules have changed since I last played tho? (they were always doing that the whole time when I played)...
All the same, I think I can still manage the basics....

ok...let me know what you want to do....I can tell my team we have an opponent and come down there, but I would need to know when...see if you can coordinate your team

IM glad to see this generated a little buzz. I think I can field a team of 9 from Lausanne for a friendly one-off game sometime in early to mid July or if not in late august or early September (in between will be tough). I think most have their gloves ("Mitts") and then we just need a bat and a ball or 2. I need to find a place we can play in Lausanne so if anyone has some ideas or leads about that?

Forgot to mention that I have some friends coming over next week and will ask them to bring a bat or 2 and some balls as well.

we just played in Sissach a few weeks ago...and can very well come over there again, as long as there is a field...let me know. If you are short on gloves, you can use ours when we are batting, and we have enough of the other stuff (bats, balls)

I need to pick up some tennis equipment very soon, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for softball things in Lausanne and report back here. In the meantime, if anyone has leads as to where to purchase mitts, bats, balls, please share.

we have a bunch of people already, but I'm sure that no one would be opposed to you coming to practice, and you can talk to the guy who runs the team...we practice every wednesday at Embrach Psych Center, near Embrach Rorbas train station

I think we have enough for a team now (ill be in touch with some that wrote me soon) but now Im trying to find a field to play on. Any ideas? (I have some new softballs and bats from the states as well).

I played for two years in Edinburgh leagues before I moved here, I live in Lausanne, let me know when you find a place and I would like to come along if thats ok
