just a quick note for those into martial arts: a great karate organization exists in switzerland: Suisse Shotokan. These guys are 100% affiliated with SKA in the US, CSK in Canada and more. (that means 30 dojos in Switz... and plenty more most places you would go)

Good energy, humble but extremely competent people, inexpensive (it's a non-profit organization). And one thing I like is that whenever I'm travelling, I always find an affiliated dojo to train in.

We train at the Lausanne Karate dojo on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-10pm at 8 chemin du Boisy. Feel free to join (even just for a quick look).

I don't suppose you know of a shotokan dojo in Basel that teaches in English ?!!!

but you should check out the suisseshotokan dojo there.
Technique names are in japanese anyways... and an instructor should always show what they're trying to get accross with his/her body so there should be no need to speak any language...
