[Zurich] Kayak Storage??

I have just brought my Kayak to Zurich and at the moment am storing it temporarily near my house. I want to find somewhere to store it next to the lake. Does anyone know of somewhere in the vicinity of the lake to store a kayak securely? The nearer to the City centre the better.

Re: Kayak Storage??

You should join a kayak club, e.g. http://www.paddeln.ch/.
They have storage space for their members. But there maybe a waiting list for storage.

Hi Paul & Goldtop,

my wife & I are keen to get ouselves and 2 young boys into Kayaking - we've been toying with the idea for ages and now we're settled (Basel) would like to get on with it.

So, would appreciate your recomendations of best lakes/clubs, kit and times of year to start out. Any advice much appreciated.

Thx in advance,

Suggest you join the Basler kayak club. They would have the info you need, organize club excursions, etc.

Re: [Zurich] Kayak Storage??

Hi

Thanks for the links. I will check them out tonight.

Regarding the question about what type is my kayak, it is 4m something long, enclosed as opposed to sit on top one, made for touring on lakes, non rapid rivers etc.

As for the previous question about more info on kayaks, I had bought mine when I was in Geneva from a company called rafting loisirs. They had a stall at the Geneva fete de la nautique were it was possible to try out different models, and their range of models was quite impressive.

Home page:

They are planning to sell on line in the near future (according to the site).

The different brands they carry and catalogs:

Used equipment (including a kayak or two):
