Took a few lessons just before I came over here and just starting to get respectable so it would be nice to carry on with some tennis whilst I am over here. Any other tennis players around that fancy a game? Don't know how easy it would be to meet people to play if I just join somewhere like Vitis at the moment, since my German skills are currently non-existent.

Welcome to the EF. There is tennis club www.tcob.ch in Basel where by the way famous Roger Federer grew up. Nice club but in my other friend's opinion who lives in Basel, it is a bit overadvertised and he didnt join it because of the high membership fees. He came here to play at Neuenhof and in Baden area with us. My girlfriend also gives the private tennis lessons at Vitis in Schlieren, check our thread at: Tennis lessons during summer and winter season!

Otherwise there is more tennis activities on the EF but in Zürich e.g. [Zürich] Tennis on Saturdays and Winter tennis which is even further.

Hopefully you can find a group of tennis enthusiast near Basel.

Thanks for the reply and links, shame you aren't a little closer to Basel or I would definitely be interested, maybe I can combine a weekend trip to Zurich with some tennis in the future, in the meantime I have been given contacts of a couple of people at work who play so I'll see what becomes of that.

Are you still looking to play tennis in Basel? I play regularly but am inconsistent at best (Federer has nothing to fear.....yet!!). I usually play at the vitis in Allschwil (indoor carpet or sand) but I don't think there is much of a social club scene. Let me know if you're up for a game

I'm moving out to basel 5th jan working at the euro port I'll be up for a couple of games a week.(been playing 2 months) I know you can get lessons but i'm looking to go to group lessons. Has anyone found any in the basel area?

I used to play pretty regularly but havnt played in more than a year---would love to restart in 09

Would appreciate if anyone could give me some leads or express interest in having a game (preferrably on a reg basis) in Basel area. Am a 32 y.o. guy with several years of tennis and a rather big passion for the sport. Is anything happening already around Basel area? I consider Schaenzli tennis club in St.Jakob for their season opening on the 1st of April.
