This is an advert for our tough rugby club. Oops, I mean our TOUCH rugby club.

The game is very friendly, a lot of fun and a great workout. It's the running and the passing of rugby without the tackling and big piles of bodies on the floor. We play mixed, with a ratio of something like 4-1 guys-girls (ie it's just whoever shows up).

If anybody fancies joining us for a bit of a runaround, we play on friday lunchtimes (12) and sunday afternoons (2.30) near Sallesporthalle in Zurich.

At the moment we only play in Zurich, but we're also looking to try to expand into other cities so if you're not in Zurich but interested, we'd still like to hear from you. It'd be great to establish teams in different towns to play against.

It's not commercial, although there is a membership fee of 100/yr to cover the cost of equipment and such. There's no charge to show up and try it out a few times though.

Sounds good. Do you need football / rugby boots?

Yeah, it's on grass, so either rugby or footy boots are a good idea. It doesn't have to be rugby boots. When I started I was playing in runners and just ended up sliding all over the place.

It's still on. If you're interested I wouldn't wait for an "open day". Just come along to one of the regular friday/sunday games and have a go. Everybody's friendly.

I'm not sure if this week's games are on, because a large contingent of us are going to St Tropez this weekend to compete in a beach-touch-rugby tournament

just like TerryHall, woud love to make it... but seeing that 5 a side start at 1:30pm, tough to make to this event...

5 a side starts at 1pm on Sunday, but yeah there is a clash...not sure if my legs will play 5 a side and then touch rugby.

I got back from St Tropez (actually Boumes Les Mammories or something like that) last night. Because it was on the beach it was 5-a-side and we had a lot of players, we entered a men's team and a mixed team into the same competition. Both of our teams made it to the final, and the men's team ended up winning. An awesome fun weekend. I'll link some pics/movies when I get time to go through them.

Hi. I'm currently playing in the Oxford touch league in the UK and am really keen to keep playing (and socialising!) when I move to Zurich for a new job in September. Do you guys train through the autumn and winter too? And where in Zurich do you play?

There's another Paris trip next month, this one being international rather than club. Since Zurich = Switzerland for touch rugby, I suspect we'll get thumped even harder this time around!

Would you know of anyone outside of Zurich who would be interested in forming their own team/club? We would be glad to give you help with coaching, forming a club (in Switzerland it is very easy!).....If you are in Zug,Luzern,Basel or Geneva I would know about others who would be interested in joining you
