roller blade/inline skating lessons in lausanne

Hello Folks,

Does anyone know of people/schools - who teach roller blade skating or inline skating in lausanne?

I really want to learn how to skate, but am totally afraid to try it alone. Would prefer, if someone taught me for a few hours before I glide away!

Thanks & cheers,

Arti

Search on Google with the French word for 'inline skating course' + Lausanne.

This is how I found my course in ZH last year, I ended up booking with www.goskate.ch and was very happy with them. However, I think they do not work outside kanton Zuerich, so you'll have to do your own search.

Hi and (late) welcome to EF!

I'm soon (very soon or i'll go nuts) moving to Lausanne with my girlfriend as jobseeker and she's very fond of inline skating. We were wondering the same thing, especially since the lakeside area of Lausanne seems nice for this sport.

Using google earth I've noticed there's a path of like 3km from Vidy to Ouchy and seems the floor would be good for skating.

While it won't be our priority due to our very tight budget until we find jobs, we will be skating in that area so someone else to skate with us will not only be fun but also makes me not be the only goofy looking skater out there

Meanwhile this is what I have bookmarked: http://www.skatingland.ch/en/orte_de...827&region=009

Re: roller blade/inline skating lessons in lausanne

There are three three-hour group courses coming up at the Migros School (taught in French):

http://www.ecole-club.ch

Type "inline" in the search box to find these results:

Stade de coubertin, 1000 Lausanne Sa 02.05.2009 09:00-12:00
Stade de coubertin, 1000 Lausanne Sa 16.05.2009 09:00-12:00
Stade de coubertin, 1000 Lausanne Sa 20.06.2009 13:30-16:30

Price is CHF 63.

You'd have to visit the school in the Flon to sign up.

BTW, I'm in no way connected to the Migro School and have no idea whether the courses are any good, I just remembered seeing them listed in the brochure.

Re: roller blade/inline skating lessons in lausanne

Hi there!

I'm new in Lausanne and I've noticed that the park at Vidy seems like a good place for skating. Thing is that I don't have my own skates anymore and I want to try first before I buy a new pair. So, does anyone know where to rent inline skates?

Cheers,
Laura

There is a very talented guy skating in Ouchy, though not in-lines. But he is good. If you go there, close to the embrakment, he is doing tricks.

Re: roller blade/inline skating lessons in lausanne

For anybody who might want to know:

I have found a place to rent skates. At Aubert Sport in Rue de la Pontaise you can rent skates for periods varying from half a day to a month. It cost me CHF 38 to rent skates for 10 days and the protection is included in the price. I thought that the service in the store was very nice.

Note: on the website, it doesn't say that they rent skates in the 'location' section, but they do.

Hi Linus, how was the course? Would be interested to hear how it went/what sort of things you learned. Have a friend who might be interested in doing the one next Saturday (sadly I can't make it due to a prior engagement, but if it's a good course and worth doing, I'll try to make the one in June)

Re: roller blade/inline skating lessons in lausanne

Hellooo all,

I was teaching skating to kids for 6 years so if anyone wants tips and pointers, then I'd love to help.

I don't pretend to be a professional qualified teacher but I taught at a saturday club for quite a while on getting started on skates and getting confident and improving technique until you feel steady and can pick up the pace.

So just let me know if I can help! I don't have anyone to skate with at the moment and am really keen to get out in Ouchy!

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,

I am in! I was looking for someone to go to skate. Back to school time I did a lot of in-line and agressive in-line skating.. it seems that Ouchy and Vidy are very good places for skating..
I also can help anyone who wants to start..!

Hi,

I have just seen this post about skating. We've just moved to Lausanne and were thinking it'd be really nice to learn how to skate here by the river. Are you still skating now? Do beginners come along too? Can adults learn to skate or is it much easier when you're young?

Thanks.

Re: roller blade/inline skating lessons in lausanne

My husband and I would love to give rollerblading another go, with some help from the more experienced, having been put off somewhat by both of us breaking our wrists despite wearing protection, a couple of years ago.
Do post an event on the social calendar Jan/stephanie if your still willing to share your skills, tips and tricks.

Re: roller blade/inline skating lessons in lausanne

Hey all,

I'm actually going to give a few lessons to a girl I know in Lausanne in the coming weeks. We skated other other weekend and I think she felt she really improved.

They are one-to-one but if I have time afterwards or before, I'd be happy to skate with you guys.
Just let me know. Or I'll try to post on here when I know when I'm going so I can try to meet after or before.

Hope the weather gets a bit better... otherwise will have to buy little umbrellas for our skates....
