anyone playing 5-a-side in Zurich or Zug?

Hi,

I wondered if there was anyone needed an extra player for 5-a-side in Zurich, or possibly Zug if its during the week. Haven't played for a couple of years though, so I'll be pretty rusty.

Anything going on?

Cheers

Right, is there any chance of a weekend kick-about then. Summer's on it's way and those parks are startig to look really good. Zürich

ok then, Zurich it is. Where would be a good place to play?

We need to get at least 8 people I reckon, otherwise there's no point.

Anyone else interested?

Re: anyone playing 5-a-side in Zurich or Zug?

Well so far there are four of us,

I could see if I can russle up some more players from the office and then we can maybe plan a debut game for next weekend as this weekend may be a bit short notice for the others.

As you say around 8-10 would be perfect.

I would suggest one of the many parks in Zürich, I'm not too familliar with all the names though.... There is that nice big one that starts just off of the main bridge in Zürich (on the Horgan thalwil side of the lake if that makes sense)

Re: anyone playing 5-a-side in Zurich or Zug?

a couple of things spring to mind immediately........

- Sunday is definately the day to do it, if we're to play on a weekend - everyone (including me) is too busy doing their shopping on a Saturday.

- Sunday mornings are often difficult due to what people get up to the night before.

- So I'd say sometime between 12 and 3pm is ideal, with 1pm getting my vote.

Oh and one more thing, England play Israel in a Euro qualifier next Saturday - not sure what time though.......

Spot on adrian76, Sunday's the day and around mid day is always a good time... Enough time to sleep off the Sat night liquid dinner.

Keep voting Lads....

Re: anyone playing 5-a-side in Zurich or Zug?

Hi there.

I'd be interested in five-a-side/a kickaround/whatever can be managed. (Am not very fit at all, but keen.)

Can anyone advise on what's happening at the moment in this respect?

I'm very flexible as far as time and location (Zurich area) is concerned.

Hope we can get a 'quorum' together for a regular game! Maybe even an 11 (though that seems a distant prospect, tuning into the forum).

(P.S. Why do so many things in CH take such disproportionate effort to achieve/are so hard to organise...? Also, it seems like 'domestic' village/Gemeinde football is, like so many things here, a Swiss 'closed shop' - or at least one with barriers to entry you wouldn't want to scale, unless you were a fluent Schwyer-Duetsch speaker...)

Re: anyone playing 5-a-side in Zurich or Zug?

Hey D15,

It seems like we have 5 people interested on the forum so far, and please feel free to ask anyone else you know if they might be interested. It would be nice if we could get at least 10 down for a game.

I think we're aiming for a kickabout next Sunday at 13:30, somewhere central in Zurich.

Personally, I'd quite like to get involved in something midweek at some point, maybe in an indoor 5-a-side league or something. Obviously the language thing can sometimes be awkward, but I'd just send the girlfriend in if it came to it.

Cheers

Adrian

Re: anyone playing 5-a-side in Zurich or Zug?

I'll see what I can put together on my side, there are a couple of guys from our office that play regularly so they may be keen. They are local lads and a decent bunch of players.

I think organising something like this will take time at first, but once we get a game or two going I'm sure we can make it a regular Sunday event.

Keep you posted,

hi all, my standard is not all that good, but i would certainly be interested. I also work in Zug and live in zurich, and would be very happy to play as well. However, Im most interested in playing one evening during the week, rather than on sunday mornings.

Re: anyone playing 5-a-side in Zurich or Zug?

Over at the Saalsporthalle, we were getting people to play on Sundays but the turnout was not great. Either on the astroturf or on the pitch towards the river....

Also down town there is a school near Stockerstrasse/2. Akt with a 5-a-side/handball pitch we used years ago - no changing facilities at either place mind you.

Hugh, it would appear that you satisfy all of the criteria.....

I'd say we should have a go on Sunday at around 1pm. We still need to finalise a venue though. I don't really mind as long as its fairly central.

What does everyone reckon?

Re: anyone playing 5-a-side in Zurich or Zug?

Excellent.

I know that Sihl-City has got a new sportshall, and as its new it may not have regular bookings yet.

Will look into it. Otherwise anywhere central is good for me.

Re: anyone playing 5-a-side in Zurich or Zug?

I'd be keen to play, but my sunday afternoon's are already taken. Unless there's a whiff of snow, in which case the whole weekend is taken.
