I think you take them to the knackers yard and they put a bolt through their brain. Most of it ends up as pet food and the rest as glue. You don't need lessons in getting rid of horses.

Re: Horse riding

Hi,
I will be in Lucerne for a short time and want to buy riding wears. They are very expensive here in Turkey. Does anyone know a place in Lucerne or Bern where I can buy Pikeur Men's Breeches?

Re: Horse riding

Hi:

You can always try the Felix Buhler stores; they are all over Switzerland. Check out their website www.horseland.com

Now for my rant since I just got back from riding my beautiful Friesian horse and am just perplexed:

For the OP, why would you even think of putting the family pet on the menu for dinner?

Anyone who has any respect and feeling for these beautiful animals would never eat them and you actually want to ride one? WHY? Next time you go riding, think about how they are slaughtered (yes, I am white meat vegetarian and I will not compare a chicken's brain to a horse's OK?)

Some countries are now starting to ban horsemeat and my horses' passport (yes they do have one for crossing borders) state the new EU law that Friesians cannot be used for horsemeat.

You may go on how cows are sacred, dogs are specialties in other countries blah blah blah, but a horse should NOT be used as meat. The really ironic thing is that most horse meat is from the US and they are brokendown / drugged up rejects from the track that are sent to the killers. You really want to eat that "good" meat?
