Has anyone done the Lausanne triathlon?

I'm hoping to compete in the triathlon this year, and I'm getting nervous because I have lots of burning questions that aren't answered by the official website.

Like: Should I be worried about the language (my French is quite poor)? What do I need to prove my health insurance? Can I compete in my polka-dot swimsuit or do I need to buy a CHF300 tri-suit? Will anyone ELSE be wearing a polka-dot swimsuit?

Please, help.

DFH has become a little unpopular
Re: Has anyone done the Lausanne triathlon?

Triathlon swimming usually depends on the temperature of the lake. There's a temperature range where wearing a wetsuit is mandatory, a range where it is optional and a range where it is forbidden. Usually in Summer/early Autumn the lake will be in the optional range.

Why don't you head down to Nyon and watch the triathlon there on the 9th Aug. Then you can keep a look out for polka-dot swimsuits, I am sure there will be one or two You can also watch the competitors and get some tips and tricks on setting up and the transitions. There will be English speakers there and I am sure they can answer your questions.

Good Luck
