Muay Thai partner in Zürich

Hi,

All my friends are unfortunately either active in another sport or wimps, so I'm looking for a training partner who'd go train with me regularely 1-2 times/week in one of the 2 good Muay Thai schools in Zürich!
I haven't done any sports for years now, but it doesn't matter if you're more sportive than me, good for my motivation.
Everything except the warmup is done in pairs, so having a regular training partner with +/- similar skills is rather essential I think.
Answer here or with a PM if you're interested!
Cheers,

Simon

I used to do a lot of Kickboxing, but had knee surgery in Feb, so still out for a few more months, but would be game!!

Great! Give me a shout when your knee is ready! We can go for free test lessons at both of the MT schools I'm aware of and decide which one we like better.

Out of curiosity, could I ask you which are the two good MT schools in Zurich you are talking about?

Often the biggest reason is when you work for a client-facing company. Five years ago I did something similar and it was fine because my job didn't require me to meet and greet people at any time, so I could get away with having the odd bruise. Now though there's no chance i could do it. I know you can train Muay Thai just for fitness too without getting into the nitty gritty, but unless you're going to get in the ring and put everything into practise I don't see much point in it really. Muay Thai is awesome though, no two ways about it.

Simon, I'm sure you don't mind me posting this here ...

Isn't it great that women's amateur boxing will be included in the 2012 Olympics in London ?!!!

Yeah, though I much prefer women MT fights!
Have seen some spectacular fights in Thailand, legs, elbows and knees aren't so much muscles-dependant, so women can really excell there as well.

Re: Muay Thai partner in Zürich

Hi,
Im interested in either someone to train with or some pointers on schools. I live in Seefeld area and work near Oerlikon so if that fits anyone let me know . Have 2yrs training and no sparring experience (and probably want to keep it that way)
Drop me a PM if anyone has any pointers or is interested in training
