Anyone heard about one of those? Any comments?

Then why would you need a mechanical one?

I just wouldn't want my neighbour/postman/my daughter seeing me riding that bad boy (in front of the tv no less). No amount of explaining and nods of comprehension would stop the jokes and rumours that would be flying about.

I have to say this is a very off topic and quite controversial remark.

Re: Horse Rider Simulator

Are you referring to the Osim uGallop (or was it iGallop)? It was huge in Asia when it first came out. A friend of mine bought it and I had a go once. I looked like a total plonker and my abs were crying after 15 minutes.

Glad I didnt invest almost 700CHF for that sort of punishment.

Why is it controversial? Nil asked "Anyone heard about one of those? Any comments?" I opened the link and saw a woman on a mechanical horse and reminded me of what VWild mentioned a "Sybian". But I would never dare say something like that (strangely enough). My dildo comment was really the first thing that came to mind.

I mean seriously, the thing looks like a big sex toy.

EDIT: MikeB and I have made-up; he gently explained to me what he meant. *kiss* *kiss**kiss*.

Re: Horse Rider Simulator

I don't know. Looks like pretty useless exercices to me.
If you want to ride a horse why not ride a real one.

I guess the answer is: Because you live in a city and have no stable downstairs to keep a horse ready for riding after you come home from the office... I have seen these machines in Asian department stores, seems to be popular and I believe if it works similar to a "powerplate" machine that the thing will shake much more than an average horse...

If it works as well as all other home training equipment for me, I would call it one bad-ass hall stand.

Just because something pops into your head, it does not make it post-worthy. How about considering whether you are adding something useful to a thread before posting (and no, being mildly amusing does not count as being useful).

For me such a thing would be useful as I wouldn't feel as bad about abusing the machine with my current weight as I'd feel about the poor groaning horse!

I think it would be useful to help get into shape so I COULD ride a real horse.

Oh horses can manage quite some weight you know.
The problem might more likely be how to get up there ... (if you don't mind me saying that Peg A )
