We are starting beach volleyball at Vidy beach on sunday evenings. Our first game will be tomorrow ( April.29.2007) at 5 pm. everyone is welcome to join us. You don't have to be a pro at beach volleyball. We will be playing at recreational/intermediate level.

I'm in Bern and have no idea if there's any English speakers playing beach volleyball -- so if you hear something, or if one of your players has a friend who has a friend...etc...etc....playing in Bern, please keep me informed.

You can search at english forum or can post a question asking him somebody is playing. I am pretty sure there will be english speakers doing some sports there.

That was a fun afternoon, even if it was short, and cut off by one of those massive storms we've been having. First the volleyball, then the standing around chatting to new people whilst waiting for the ice-cold rain (and hail!) to stop enough to let us get home without freezing!

We talked about doing this every weekend from now, and perhaps making it a longer afternoon with drinks, maybe even a BBQ etc.

So if you're able to get to the Vidy area in Lausanne on Sunday afternoons, post about it and let us know. Even if you're not into the idea of beach volleyball it could well end up being a good way to meet up with the other Lausanne forumers outside of a bar or pub (as I'm sure we will continue to do as well!).

I agree with Simon. It was really nice to see all those people and to play some beach volleyball. Next time we'll have a bigger turn out. Few people couldn't make it last time because of the weather.
So keep your eyes on EF. We will be playing again this sunday. I will start a new thread for that with specifics about time etc etc.

Hi Ryan, there are some beach volley ball courts in Marzilli between the park itself & the Tierpark bridge. Not sure who runs it or if it is organised but is always full.

Normally it would be, however I'm not sure about this weekend since I've just read about a tournament on at Vidy this weekend.

and it should last till around 6 pm...?

we did end up playing at vidy after the tournament. It was kind of spontaneous and I just placed few phone calls and people started showing up. I will keep you posted about future games.

there will be games in coming weeks. Some weekends I am away thats why its kind of hard to organize every weekend. If people are interested in playing during the week days, we can do that.

During the week in evenings works for me. Are there enough players?

I'd be interested in playing during the weekdays. I work close to the EPFL, and can always swing by after work.

Just came across this thread and if you're still playin (summer is quickly coming to an end) and there's an opening, I'd love to play. Most days work for me. Any sporting activity in the Lausanne area count me in aswell.
