| Re: Climbing school
Hey, yeah, that climbing place is in Niederwangen, really close to Bern, can get on the S1 train, then walk a bit (around 500 m) and you get there.
Problem: it is all lead climbing. Therefore, if you're a climbing newbie, it may be best for you to partner up with someone who already climbs. Their courses, unfortunately, seem a bit expensive and long, for instance their basic course is a full 10 hours long (5x 2 hours)! You can definitely start top-roping in 5 minutes and have more fun if you partner up if you prefer.
About partnering up: there are several climbers in the forum, many of them in Bern, so maybe it would be best to just post something like: "newbie would like to climb, anyone would let me tag along?" kind of thing.
The other option is to try to join one of the alpine clubs in the area. (shrug)
Good luck!
