| | | Re: Snow sports 2009-10 | Quote: | | | | | What are the best spots in the Jura? Or are there any? I've heard of a place called Chasseral. I am a snowboarder of about 16 years experience and love the pow-pow. I am living in Neuchatel and don't have a car so any tips on the most accessible places by train?
Getting my gear at Christmas so I'm stoked to start riding when I get back! | | | | | I learnt to snowboard at a place in the Jura and I think it was Chasseral. I lived in Neuch and from what I remember it was tiny, great for learning though, but we used to go in to the Alps for the bigger places.

What would be classified as 'tiny'? I am used to riding at places like Sunshine and Lake Louise and Big White in Canada. They all have about 150-200 runs and around 10 lifts...

I'm in Basel until Dec. 10th, and am hoping to fit in some snowboarding before then. I started a thread earlier with a bit more info about myself - In Basel, hoping to find some snowboard/ski buddies and advice
If anyone wants to go on a day trip (or possibly longer) early this season and is looking for company, let me know!

I'm in provided that a decent snow-fall appears on the mountain tops and no soggy snow along the piste. When would that be? |

Well, I'm just a noob here, so I'll leave it to the experts to tell me if, when, and where that's happened. But if it happens before December 10th, someone please let me know!

Anybody come across good deals to get your skis tuned-up for the start of the season?

Innsbruck is beautiful. If you look up, the mountains are covered in snow.
And it is nice and cold here too. I must say, I am getting in the spirit.
I asked my cousin last week if he had any old ski gear he did not want. I was hoping for something a smidgen less garish than my Spyder gear I have had for the last 3 years.... What did he come up with? More Spyder gear, but it is the mens´ Olympic uniform from Turin, so there is a huge "Austria" on the back. I am going to look like such a tool .

Also took a friend to the Ochsner Outlet in Affoltern a. A today and they had some real bargins on ski's, Head's down for 1086 to 675, X-wings down to 550, I saw a pair of K2's for 190 from 650..... bargin.
If there is much interest in another social in ZH, let me know and I'll arrange one. Maybe folks that have kit they are changing or upgrading that still has life in it they can post it on here and maybe take it along, just a thought.

| | | Re: Snow sports 2009-10 | Quote: | | | | | You may also want to check out the Outlet Stores just opposite Ikea in Dietlikon. I think the Sport Fabrik in Regensdorf is very expensive, and even after reductions from the advertised prices, i still think it looks expensive.
Doc. | | | | | What are the names/addresses of the outlet stores in Dietlikon? I heard there is one sport outlet(a lot of ski stuffs) store in Duebendorf near Interior or something like that, does anyone know exactly where it is? Thanks.

I was there last year and found lots of ski equipment on sale, however the most affordable pick I found in Migros Sport XXX.

My receipt from Conrad has the Address on it, "Alte Dübendorfer Strasse 17", so it is nr. 19 or 15, where you find the shops i thoughgt of. There is a Globus Outlet there, but i am not sure, if the sport shops are outlets too. they just seem a fair bit cheaper than the Sport Factory.
