Davos (Parsenn) was fab today, loads of sunshine and not sure if Economic Forum had anything to do with it but we had empty slopes |

Flims/Laax was sh!te. Over priced, over crowded, over rated, totally tracked out and quite a few lifts/runs closed.

this weekend. Maybe next social night we do a "Weather forecasts and

It has a reputation for being better then average resort and it is average at best but they charge through the nose for the privilege of using their resort. Even Lenzerheide which is an expensive resort offers significantly more value for money.
This side of the country had quite a few reasonable places yesterday. I am quite familiar with weather forecasts and the weather was exactly as I predicted.

Can anyone recommend a good long sledging run near Zurich that is suitable for children? Preferably with a lift.
Has anyone been on the Filzbach run? Would this be suitable to take kids down?

It used to be my favourite resort ... but effing hell, they have maxed out the ticket prices (64 chfs!!) , and the place is always rammed to the gills.
It became the favourite mainly has it has loads of runs and was normally easy to park ... even if you arrived at 12.00. TBH , it don't think it is over-rated
It also scores for being board friendly - which is where Davos/Klosters falls down. I presume they make drag lifts that long because they hate the customers !!
I'm with you on Flumserberg - always too crowded and normally icy
Aztmannig has a certain charm - mainly it is 15 mins from home and has a chairlift (it's that board thing again)
Pizol looks like it could be interesting , so thanks for that

What's the early word on this weekend? Have heard nothing but snow since I left, guess my wishes at the Reclining Buddha are paying dividends.
Plan to head out on Saturday and Sunday, and may be suffering from jet lag on Friday @ Hoch-Ybrig .

Most likely something along the lines of Andermatt on Saturday and Graubunden on Sunday. But there is plenty of time for that to change.

Will be @ Parsenn this Sunday. Last Sunday in Jakobshorn was excellent. Good snow, no queues, nobody on slopes (thanks WEF!).

Might be an option if one is too crowded.

The ticket you get with snow'n'rail or a ticket for two days or more covers the entire resort though. Then you can quite easily change areas.

EVening all. When do you usually have your last run of the season? Heading over late March and wondering if I'll get the chance to pull off some 180 backside fakie jumps / break my leg ?

Are you thinking an all-day journey for the perfect run or sticking in the resort?

At this stage I'm ready to ski the ramp off the airplane. |

If I hear magic words Gemstock and Andermatt, I am tempted to join Completely missed skiing last weekend b/c of visitors and Aussie Open 2010 finals altogether.
