Looks like 2nd EF snowhound Snow&Rail day coming together for Sunday at Davos/Klosters. I'm thinking Jakobshorn this time. So far, it looks like the following:
Luminousmind08
Jacek
ToiletDuck
If interested, send me a PM with your mobile number. Same plan as last time - meet platform 5 @ 7:00 for departure @ 7:12. Latecomers can catch the 7:37 and meet us @ Landquart or at the mountain.
Will confirm final list with PM's tomorrow night.
Happy carving! | | | | | I would come, but it appears that I am baing taken for afternoon tea at The Dolder on Sunday. |

I'm thinking between Elm, Meiringen/Hasliberg, Klewenalp or Brigels/Andiast. The latter three I've never been to so its a bit of an experiment. | | | | | I have been to Klewenalp-Stockhütte once but I found this resort remarkable in terms of free-ride opportunities. Here are some pics from last year with fresh powder in the background which quickly became trodden by folks like me .

I'd check the Klewenalp out if I weren't going to France tomorrow

I am starting to think Elm might be a reasonable option though.

From the little amount of snow that came through this afternoon/evening, I would cross Klewenalp off the list. Could be wrong though.

Anyone interested in going to Andermatt, Airolo or Engelberg tomorrow (Sunday)? I would like to head to the south where the sun is (according to the weather forecast).

It looks like Engelberg will have similar weather to anywhere in Graubunden where Luminiousmind etc are going.

Okay EF Snow hounds, Snow&Rail is on for Jakobshorn (Davos/Klosters) for tomorrow!
We meet platform 5 @ 7:00 to catch the 7:12 train. For those that want later train @ 7:37 you will be able to catch us @ Landquart at the pass if you can find us. I prefer the 7:12 as it should be less crowded. Actually, ideal would be 6:37 but too late to change now.
Make sure you get the train ticket to Davos Platz as that is the stop for Jakobshorn. Reason we are going there is it should be less crowded than Parsenne and we went there last time.
Be on the lookout for the unofficial EF snow hound symbol - A loyal order of Water Buffalo hat on top of my skis (that is a blue hat with gold horns)
see you tomorrow!

see you tomorrow! | | | | | I might wangle a kitchen pass or tomorrow as I haven't been out since a F.O.A.F last week, but I don't love you enough to get the 06:08 from here to meet you at the HB Mr Mind. As I'm a PT novice, where would be a reasonable place to pick the train up en-route, so I can see if it's doable |

Anything is doable Papa G, worst case give me a call on the hill and we will come find you!
Good question Papa G, basically the transfer point is @ Lanquart. I'd check SBB and see what the link is.
Here is our routing for your reference.

Okay, keep the batphone clear then
That link didn't work, what time would you guys leave Landquart?
EDIT: Still looks like a cow of a train journey with 3 changes and 3 hours travel time, so if I come it I'll probably drive.

See you at Landquart Trev.

Luminousmind had an epic fall today, as witnessed by Jacek. This certainly threw a monkey wrench into Jacek and ToiletDuck's day. Tried to soldier on for a few more runs but in the end, the pain was too much to take. However, staying loyal to the EF snow hounds, I still skied down to the bottom of the mountain.
Good news is doctors say no damage to internal organs, and when the codeine kicks in, with apologies to Bob Marley, luminousmind will feel no pain.
Bad news is doctor says out of action for minimum 6 weeks. |

You didn't ruin our day at all. Glad you are ok but shame you are out of action for so long though.
Thanks for making my last week in Switzerland so eventful!
Dave.

Hey Trev (Trevor),
Thx for making it a small event. Speedy recovery mate and know it was cool to have you there even for these few hours. We took couple more runs down and enjoyed beer at the bar while watching kids jumping on the tube.

Sorry to hear about the tumble. | | | | | I specifically asked and she said I can create no more damage, so if I can bear the pain I am good to go IMHO.
As an incentive to attend the next ski social, I will save the details of the worst wipeout of Luminoumsmind's career until that night!

Having seen how solid you are on ski's though it must have been a pretty horrendous crash to put you out of action.

Impact of the epic fall was huge indeed and enough it managed to shake all the snow off piste, not sure about shattered windows in Jakobshorn hotel though. Here are some pics to commemorate another snowhounds feat in Jakobshorn.
