Hi all

I'm new in Basel. I have seen that a lot of people ride everywhere, I'm not good on a bike so was wondering if I'm allowed to rollerskate on the curb/cycle lane/street? I haven't seen a lot of people doing it so I'm guessing I'll have to get confident on a bike!

Hi Lola, I skate everwhere and have never had a prob. use the cycle way but do make sure that you are going with the flow and do watch out for the tram lines!!!

I would watch out for cyclists as well, some skaters have a death wish, I have this special equipment fitted on my bike, just in case they stray into my path. It is an air horn and I can tell you it works really well, even on joggers with their ipods on full blast. Having said that I am a cyclist in the cycle lane, I do not mind joggers, skater, horse, riders as long as they are aware. I draw the line at scooters and motorcyclists which after being knocked off twice, I have to say I am at war with those b*****

Hi , I just picked up a pair of inline skates, along with protective gear. Please lemme know where I ( a novice) can learn skating, on my own? Is there a rink of some sort?I live in Basel.
