[Where to] Telemark-ski boot fitting - Lausanne

Hello,

I have some new telemark boots and am looking to have them fit. I will be living in Lausanne and I've heard it is best to have them fit at the hill so you can ski and test the fit.

Does anyone have recommendations for boot (or specifically tele-boot, not sure how much this matters) fittings? Something at a reasonable price would be nice too, I'm not looking to ski my brains out that day on something amazing.

Thanks,
Cereus

probably the best place would in Verbier, someplace near the lift. surefoot is probably your best bet. probably not cheap tho since you didn't buy the boots there. you could also check: medran sports, mountain air, no bounds.

you can google those + verbier and find email contact info.

Re: [Where to] Telemark-ski boot fitting - Lausanne

you can have a good fit for your boots in the city.

there are 3 ways to have your boot fitted:
1- the insole, it's heat fitted and costs about 90 CHF. it takes 15-20'. no need to go to a ski resort for that.
2- heat or pressure fitting the shell. Usually done for free when you buy the boot at the store. Takes some time (overnight clamping for pressure fit) and sometimes a few visits, so it's better to have a shop closeby.
3- inner shoe fitting. The inner shoe is replaced by a special one filled at the shop with foam. Costs from 250-300 CHF. Is not a precision technology, and requires a good artisan, so it might (or might not) take back and forth testing. A skilled artisan for this job is extremely difficult to find. But the mainstream bootfitters such as Stöckli, in St. Légier, do the job well enough.

Phone Aubert sports, Schaefer sport, Yosemite or Passe-Montagne (excellent for telemark) to check if they do one or the other of these fits.
