no.. world cup 2006 when they lost to Italy
ah so it's selective memory and Euro 2008 group exit, well-deserved at that, did not happen?

A bit like the handball last night, I'd guess

Re: (Cheating) French Football Player

Quite ludicrous that they cannot do anything after the match when the evidence is so damning plus the player concerned admits the error.

Looking at another 'sport' - F1 the FIA manages to penalise plenty of drivers after races including taking away a whole World Championship (Schumacher '97). Just because something wasn't noticed at the time does not mean it should be allowed to pass.

It makes a mockery of the sport when such a stupid incident deprives Ireland of the chance to participate in the World Cup. Pathetic.

I prefer to think back to 2002, when France, the holders, were eliminated at the group stage without scoring a goal. Happy times...

Re: (Cheating) French Football Player

He soooooooooooooooooooooo cheated, no doubt about and a little too smug for my liking. And FIFA are a disgrace(nothing new there then).
On a slightly positive note, Ireland has been hit really badly by the world's economic problem at least the fans will not be put under pressure to put themselves into debt to go to S.A to support their team!!

I don't see how he is a cheat if it was an accidental handball which he even admitted to after the match. Had the ref asked him, and he denied it, then that would have been cheating.

So he accidentally handled it twice while being offside? Time to change your Guide Dog dude!

Incidentally Ive just thrown out my husbands Gillette Mach III

Re: (Cheating) French Football Player

Ireland was robbed. Qualifying for WC results in getting millions of Euros for countries footballing infrastructure and improvement of next generation players. It is more than WC qualification.

Quote:
Keane said Blatter and Uefa president Michel Platini, who is French, would rather see France than Ireland playing at next year's World Cup in South Africa.

"Of course it is an easy decision to do the seedings," Keane said. "They're probably all clapping their hands, Platini sitting there on the phone to Sepp Blatter, texting each other, delighted with the result, with France (getting through)."

I wondered whether to groan you as this is really flamebait. The thread's about Thierry cheating and notasking who was the better team.

Given the posts made up to yours, you can only be posting bait and I've rated you accordingly

Oh no i feel so sorry for Irish seriously, they deserved to win this Game. I am French and i love my team but i got to say it's wasn't a honest victory at all and i do feel like we didn't really win Anyway and it's same for a lot of people in France.

Accidental? He raised his hand to stop it going out, then flicked it across to Gallas for the goal. The referee was blindsided so couldn't see it, but the linesman should have flagged. Henry also admitted he'd handled it, and said it was up to the ref to make the decision.
Gutted for the boys in green, they outplayed les bleus on the night and had by far the better chances. Converting one of them would have made the handball issue redundant, but cheating is cheating in my book.
what hand??

Did anyone see a hand there?

its just a comment my friend....im glad France made it

Henry's goal was clearly with the hand, but the referee didn't called it

playing in PAris, in a full stadium and LOTS of different interests... its FIFA

and Ireland will have to watch the world cup...on TV

u rated me accordingly? congratulations, well done,

Does this mean that if England were to encounter France next summer, our good Irish friends would cheer for England this time round?

see there are two posts here - one incendiary and one pro-France but very humourous.

You do not have the moral high ground, nico.
The context of your post has only one meaning. And it's not really to make friends and influence people now is it?
