It seems like every Irish facebook friend of mine (and that would be most of my friends and family) has joined one or another of the newly established anti-Henry or anti-French team groups.
One in particular, "We Irish hate Thierry Henry (the cheat)" already had 20000 members by midnight last night. and well over 35000 at the moment...
Ahh the power of the internet (worthless)

What on Gods earth are they doing? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/foot...ls/8368100.stm
Ireland's role in the greater scheme of things is to be a heroic failure - play that game again and we risk getting pasted 3-0 and looking like right dimwits.

I'm sure after this outcry, it will be another 150 before anyone dares to do the same. | | | | | All this reminds me of Joe Jordan cheating against Wales at Anfield! |

If Keane had done what Henry did he'd be a cute hoor...still, we wuz robbed. And i was so looking forward to the homecoming after having been knocked out in Round 2...on penalties of course.

The game is over.
TV seems to be a solution.
FIFA has refused to use this solution, though all fans would like to know the motives why.
Another example is the professional foul seen every week by fans(a professional foul is a innocuous foul in midfield to stop the opposition playing).
Perhaps a good example would be to ban Henry for the World Cup.
Worse than injustices are the out of touch people who run the game.
Accountability and creditability are at stake, something sadly missing in today's world.
I am Irish and I know how important it was for Irish football to qualify(helping the FAI to develop its infrastructure) through sponsorship money.

it's will be on channelsports 1 South Africa tv.
Now technically there's 11 more subscribers to watch the games!!

| | | Re: (Cheating) French Football Player | Quote: | | | | | Finally, take a look in the mirror. I didn't hear anyone down the pub criticising Keano's 2 failed attempts to get away with handball last night. As with all things in football, Henry just does it better than Keano. | | | | |
But in my opinion, in Henry's case, the ball didn't just hit his arm, there was blatent hand control, 2 very different situations.
The ball will hit the arm, at times, it happens, and naturally the player will plead his case, but 2 handballs, during an offside moment with blatent hand control, one of the 3 should have been caught by an official !

Fu€k it. It's done now. Hopefully FIFA will get their finger out and see about implementing some form of Video Ref after this, but it's unlikely.
I doubt Martin Hansson will be planning any holiday to Ireland in the near future though.
By the way, I'm still going to use this as an excuse to rag on the French for at least a week. Seems only fair. |
