You may have failed.

It was deliberate, he handled it twice and he's looking at it.
Yes, he's looking at it... with surprise! Heh-heh...

The game is over.
TV seems to be a solution.
FIFA has refused to use this solution, though all fans would like to know the motives why.
Another example is the professional foul seen every week by fans(a professional foul is a innocuous foul in midfield to stop the opposition playing).
Perhaps a good example would be to ban Henry for the World Cup.
Worse than injustices are the out of touch people who run the game.
Accountability and creditability are at stake, something sadly missing in today's world.

I am Irish and I know how important it was for Irish football to qualify(helping the FAI to develop its infrastructure) through sponsorship money.
I concur with above
I am Irish, my heart physically hurt when i seen the boys at the end of the match, its soooooo unfair, and the fact that we and the FIFA are gona turn a blind eye is out of character and plain ignorant, henry's foul should be achknowledged--- Suspension is the perfect disiplinery act!!

No, it isn't. Deliberate handball is a yellow card offence.

We've had half a week to get over it, please can the bleeding hearts go back to watching the tennis. Football is teeming with injustice, it is part of the game. There is one man in charge, the referee - if he or his assistants don't see it at the time, that's unfortunate, but that's football.

Ah StirB, allow us vent, its part of the process of getting over it...

Last comment from me on this: You know that handling twice is even illegal in volleyball...

Re: (Cheating) French Football Player

Whilst there is no doubt that Henry handled the ball (on purpose). I think what the Irish forget is that is that they qualified to the 1994 World Cup on a massive ref. error in the Denmark - Spain game which knocked Denmark out and handed Ireland the spot. Sometimes these thinks work for you and sometimes they work against you. The reality is that Ireland had tons of changes during the two games and they did not take them (as was the case for Denmark).

Having said all that, I would have loved to see Ireland qualify in place of France

How naive, it's big business.
I'm sure there's no element of corruption, though. That kinda thing could never happen in a sport under so much scrutiny... surely?

Re: (Cheating) French Football Player

I am a Spurs fan through and through, and the only modern Arsenal player I have consistently (and secretly) hoped would switch to Spurs was Thierry Henry, since his ability was fantastic, his committment to his team was true and his non-football attitude was second to none. e.g. fair-play, ant-racism, helping youth etc.
Perhaps his moment of madness will haunt him forever, but I can't believe it when people say "the emotion of the moment just got to him".
If he had such a great conscience and reputation why could he have done what Arshavin did against Partsmouth earlier this year, by clearly and opening letting the ref and everyone in the stadium know that the decision was wrong by simply raising and wagging his finger? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...ortsmouth.html

Re: (Cheating) French Football Player

You couldnt make it up. The currently trialled idea of extending to 5 referee's - adding two goalmouth assistants - being trialled in the Europa League has been turned down by FIFA!!

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Wor...enrys_Handball

Reason being given is not enough time to organise but thats just pathetic. It would have caught Henry 'red handed' and should definitely be included in the upcoming world cup.

Re: (Cheating) French Football Player

We Irish will probably keep going on about this for years to come.... better than talking about a recession ... :-)

Hopefully we will beat France at the Rugby though..... they can use their hands LEGALLY ;-)

Anybody in Zurich willing to go to FIFA headquarters to have a chat with them for me :-)

Re: (Cheating) French Football Player

Gotta love it,

Now they are complaining about not being seeded, claiming it is punishment for the hand ball. Unbelievable.
